Atomic Beings
Atomic Beings are the physical incarnations of abstract concepts; ideas that were never meant to bear the weight of form. Once, they existed as pure principles adrift in the upper reaches of the Grove, unbound by time, identity, or matter. But through an act still debated by The Judge and the Trial, these concepts were “pulled from the heavens and grafted to the Tree.” In doing so, they were made to inhabit flesh.
The process of grounding a concept into form is neither gentle nor natural. To survive embodiment, and to endure material life, each Atomic Being is bound to a Cosmic Parasite, a lifeform believed to have originated in the Sea. This organism serves as their nervous system, a living conduit that binds infinite awareness to finite form. A living conduit between the infinite and the finite. Through it, an Atomic Being can process sensation, emotion, and physical experience, anchoring an otherwise formless consciousness into the fabric of material existence.
However, this act of embodiment fractured them. The Grove, being an omniverse of countless realities and timelines, scattered each Atomic Being’s essence across innumerable worlds. Each localized instance, each iteration, is known as an "Isotope", a distinct life living out its own path in isolation from the others, yet all connected through the same cosmic designator. These Isotopes exist simultaneously across time and space, unaware of their counterparts except in moments of heightened awareness. Each Isotope lives a separate life, different worlds, different eras, different faces, but they all share the same Conceptual Core, marked by a unique three-digit designator (Ex: 666, 390, 056, 214, 111, 555, etc). These designators are the Cosmic Identifiers of their origin, a kind of metaphysical genome that defines what they are, and what they must endure.
Across every leaf, no matter the variation of circumstance or world, each Atomic Being is bound by a kind of Cosmic Genetic Sequence or Cosmic DNA, an intrinsic pattern of experience that echoes through all its forms. Some call this “fate,” though the truth is more structural than mystical. The designator determines a set of archetypal experiences each Isotope must encounter, ensuring that the Being’s essence is tested, shaped, and refined in the same ways throughout the Omniverse of The Grove.
When an Atomic Being becomes more Awake (when its higher consciousness stirs and perceives beyond a single world; ascension to Higher Dimensions similar to their former and natural way of being) it can sense these recurrences. It can perceive more than one life at once, remembers fragments of its other lives, the repetition of its trials, and the inevitability of its patterns. Memories, emotions, and insights bleed between realities, allowing the Being to understand its own multiplicity Yet even then, it can only embody one Isotope at a time. Only one life, one Isotope, can "Be Awake" at a time. To descend into a particular life is to Collapse into Singularity: a fall from omniscient awareness into the confines of one identity, one body, one thread of fate. A descent from Omniscient Multiversal perception into a single, lived reality.
When one collapses into their Isotope, they live a life that has already been written in part, yet endlessly rewritten through the choices they make within it. Their struggle is the same in every world: to reconcile the boundless nature of what they are with the narrow paths the universe has drawn for them. This collapse is not always voluntary. Sometimes it is drawn by resonance, gravitational pull between similar fates, moments of crisis, or emotional intensity across worlds. Other times it occurs as a form of rest, when the higher consciousness seeks to understand one existence more deeply before returning to the expanse of awareness.
When one collapses into an Isotope, they become human, or close enough to it. When they rise, they remember they were never meant to be.
Atomic Being exists in a state of beautiful fragmentation: countless lives unfolding across the branches of the Grove, all tethered by the same cosmic nervous system, all striving in their own way to reconcile the infinite with the finite. They are living paradoxes, ideas that think and bleed, eternal truths confined within temporal shells.
The Atomic Beings thus exist in a perpetual tension between infinity and confinement. Each is both one and many, eternal yet bound by recurring mortal arcs that test their essence across all realities. Their designators are not mere numbers; they are the keys to their existence, the blueprints of their suffering and becoming.
They are the Grove’s most tragic Beings. Concepts made human, immortality made fallible, fate made flesh.
