@multusmusae : ' i've heard tales of your exploits . impressive , if they're true . ' from raymun.
he turns his sideways glance from the boy, attention shifting back to the strap he's pulling tight around his horse's saddle. a trace of humor glints weakly in the knight's eye. why is it always 'if they're true' ?
with confidence he takes his time to reply, letting the faraway clicking of hooves and the clinking of steel in the training grounds fill the silence between them. he's watched the other there just earlier, tussling with his brother, or was it cousin ? he does not keep up with the lineages of most noble houses.
the ser exhales a breathy chuckle, then finally leaves the white mare's side to turn towards the fossoway. his banner displays an apple. and something about this siegfried finds endearing, positively humble and beautiful. he also thinks that the boy could have pummeled his cousin the one or other time. there'd been plenty opportunity, but perhaps not the confidence.
❛ you're of cider hall, right ? ❜ a few slow steps are taken towards the squire. if they are to talk of exploits then that is something he is keeping up with. plenty of those, of all the houses, are heard and shared over wine and ale in the merry company of smallfolk. ❛ i'd have liked your house's exploits too. shooting apples off the heads of willing maidens, was it not ? that sounds like a round of fun superior to truly anything else i could imagine. ❜
