A common snack sold on the side of the road in Mumbai is the Paneer Chilly Dosa, which has a spicy and tangy paneer filling and is shaped like a dosa. It's a tasty treat that you can eat quickly as a meal or snack.
Ingredients: 1 cup dosa batter. 200g paneer cottage cheese, diced. 1 onion, finely chopped. 1 capsicum, finely chopped. 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped. 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1 teaspoon red chili powder. 1 teaspoon soy sauce. 1 teaspoon vinegar. Salt to taste. 2 tablespoons oil. Fresh coriander leaves for garnish.
Instructions: Heat a pan or griddle and spread a ladleful of dosa batter to make a thin dosa. Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook until it turns golden brown. Flip and cook the other side until crispy. Remove and keep aside. In a separate pan, heat oil and add chopped green chilies and ginger-garlic paste. Saut for a minute. Add chopped onions and cook until they become translucent. Add diced paneer and saut until it turns light golden brown. Add finely chopped capsicum and cook for a few minutes until it becomes slightly tender. Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, soy sauce, vinegar, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat. Place the prepared dosa on a plate and spoon the paneer chili mixture on one half of the dosa. Fold the other half over the filling. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious Paneer Chilly Dosa!
