Momblr challenge day 2

I had my baby girl at 22, but got pregnant at 21. I look like I’m barely 16 sometimes especially without makeup, so I get a lot of looks when I’m with my baby, and actually tried to make mom friends at my apartment complex while walking with the stroller, I saw 2 other moms walking and they thought I was babysitting my younger sister 🙄 but at 22 I totally feel good enough to have my baby. I was a manager at my job, only stepped down to spend time with my baby but I still get my manager pay, we have 4 cars, a large apartment until we find a house, and my baby is spoiled with things beyond belief. So I am glad to have my baby at this age because I’m still young enough to enjoy it but old enough to be ready! Sorry this is all over the place I just felt answering 22 was too boring lol!!!

Day 23 : Hardest thing about being a mum? 

The Guilt. I feel guilty over EVERY little thing.

My kid didn’t eat healthy today. I yelled. I didn’t play with her as much as I should have. I spent all day at work. I’m enjoying my time when she’s gone. I spent too much time on the phone. I didn’t listen to her while she was talking about her day. I waited too long to take her to the doctors. And the list goes on and on...

Every thing makes me feel like a crap mom.

Day 18: Top 5 baby essentials? 

I had this changing table that went on the top of the bathtub and it was sooo practical, I kept it even after she turned 3.

Baby oil for baby massages (still using it)

Baby sleeping sacks ( I used them until she was 2 and a half)

A Humidifier for her bedroom (still using it)

A good camera. They change so fast, it’s important to take tons of pics :)

Is parenthood what you expected it to be?

Nope lol. Some of it is better, a lot of it is much harder than I thought it would be though.

Most rewarding thing about being a mum?

Everything. Watching him grow up and learn new things and develop his little personality, and being filled with so much love.

Everything lol. It’s exhausting and a lot of pressure and work.

Do you miss life before kids?

I miss some parts of it, like sleeping in lol and being able to do whatever I want whenever I want. But overall I don’t really miss out on anything now that I would have done back then, so there’s not much to miss. It was just a really hard adjustment at first, to go from an independent 19/20 year old to a mom, and I used to feel like I was missing out on so much and there were so many things I could have done that I can’t now cuz I had a baby, but it got better and I don’t really feel like that anymore.

Did you have a theme for their nursery/bedroom? What was it?

No, Cam didn’t have his own room so I didn’t get to set up a nursery ☹️

Eh I skimmed a couple. I liked my pregnancy countdown book.

If you were to have another baby boy or girl (or both), what would you name him/her?

For a boy I like the name Matthew. Idk what the middle name would be, or maybe Matthew would be the middle name. It was almost Cameron’s middle name.

For a gender neutral name I like Carter.

And for a girl I like Diana, probably with my middle name

Would you be a surrogate?

Ive thought about that, because I loved pregnancy, but I’d probably get too attached..I don’t think I could handle it

Best parenting advice you were given?

Take some time for yourself.

Parenting is hard and I know I can get burnt out and stressed and overwhelmed, and even just taking time to do a face mask while Cam naps, or doing my nails after he goes to bed, or whatever, makes me feel a lot better.

Worst advice you were given?

Ugh a lot. “Let him cry to sleep” “give him cereal in a bottle so he’ll sleep better” (he was 2 weeks old) “don’t get him vaccinated” fortunately I never acted on any of it lol

Did you stick to your birth plan/s?

For the most part. My nurse wouldn’t even look at or hear about my birth plan, but ya know they kinda have to ask you all that shit anyway as it goes so 🤷‍♀️ the only things that were on my birth plan that didn’t happen the way I wanted were, I had constant fetal monitoring so I couldn’t move(if I ever have another baby I will not be doing that again unless it’s actually necessary), and I didn’t get to do delayed cord clamping even though the doctor said we would as he was catching him, and I didn’t get skin to skin right after.

I also didn’t want to be induced but oh well

Did you find out the sex of your child/ren? Why/why not?

I did, because I was curious and wanted to know. But I think if I have another, I want it to be a surprise
