It all began as little joke at my cousins wedding on the 24th September, we was having a few drinks, talking a load of rubbish and pregnancy came up, he asked if I was, I said “I don’t know I think I need to do one lol” we laughed and didn’t think much about it, the night went on, enjoyed every moment. The next day my partner was coming to see me and I just randomly said to him “could you get a pregnancy test please” guys being guys, he was asking loads of questions and was worrying a bit, I said “I’m probably not but just want to do one”. So after a few hours he came by but wasn’t sure what he needed to buy lol, so my mum took us to the local pharmacy so I could get one, this is now the 25th September (by the way, I tell my mum everything and she is amazing with anything I tell her). We got the test and I started to feel a bit nervous. (Also I didn’t notice that my period was late, normally my period is before my mum but none of us noticed anything different) so, we get home, I do the test, the lines came up straight away, my partner and mum was stood outside waiting, I walked out and said, “your going to be a dad and your going to be a nan” my mum just looked at me and laughed, I said “no really, your going to be a dad and nan!” My partner was in so much shock that we didn’t actually talk lol, my mum was over the moon and congratulated us both. Now, me and my partner only got together in may 2021 so obviously I could understand he would be shocked and not want to talk because we found out we are having a baby, it took me a little while to realise that we are pregnant, it’s always been my dream to become a mummy, but I didn’t think it would be this soon lol. I did about 5 test to make sure I was as I couldn’t believe I was actually pregnant! Did a referral for the midwife, waited a few weeks for that to come through, they did a early scan as we couldn’t work out when my last period was. Went for the scan and I was measuring at that time 6 ish weeks, so very early. When me and my partner saw our baby on the screen, everything changed and it was all so real!
