I just re-watched mumbos last life series (I miss him like mad okay) and that scene where Scott takes him hostage right?Well, Impulse comes charging back in and says, ready?

Just, now I'm imagining a protective Impulse growling anytime Scott came in close proximity to him, maybe when they got back to the southlands, Impulse felt like he had to 'prove' that Mumbo was his. Maybe leaves a few marks on his neck to show everyone, Mumbo loves it.
