♚ Do you agree with fandom interpretation of your character?
I… haven’t seen much of the fandom interpretation of her, honestly - besides the rather alarming tendency to ship her with everything that moves. But I’ve seen the occasional fanfic or such - and I have to say that no, I don’t really. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but… I feel like the fandom tendency is to make her a flatter character than she is, you know? I try not to fall into that same way of portraying her.
♤ Has your muse developed to be different from their canon selves through roleplay?
Hm. That’s an interesting question, actually. I’ve added a lot of my own spin to her mindset, I’ll say that - though I always try my hardest to rely on canon as my backing whenever I do. I’d say, more, that I’ve expanded on her canon self, rather than actually changing it at all -
-Though given that it’s been an absolute age since I sat down and watched the movie, it’s entirely possible that I’ve diverted from her canon self somewhere along the way and have yet to realise it XD
✘ Any unpopular opinions about your muse?
That she’s *not* just a shipping toy. I know the tendency is to push her with anyone and everyone, canine or not - but believe it or not, there’s an actual character under there too. One who has serious abandonment issues and would probably struggle to settle into any relationship without a lot of care and patience. I think a lot of people don’t realise how much her past experiences would have scarred her.
That, or they just don’t care because she’s pretty so SHIPPING! seems to be the popular view of her XP

In spite of being a street dog with ratty fur, Angel is fully aware that she’s regarded as pretty by other dogs and humans alike. And, in all truth, she sees this as rather a mixed blessing. On the one paw, being cute definitely helps her play the sympathy card on the streets; when Buster and the gang aren’t looking, she’ll sometimes turn to humans for scraps, relying on her looks to get her fed.
But on the other, she’s also come to regard her looks as the reason she’s gained and lost so many homes so fast. People see her, immediately think ‘oh, pretty doggie!’ and instantly take her in without considering whether they’re actually prepared for the demands of caring for an animal or not. And in most cases, the answer is not - hence the number of times she’s been kicked straight back out not long after. She’s come to feel that, if she were a less attractive canine, then people might think longer before adopting her - and she’d stand more chance at ending up with someone who actually knew that they would be able to keep her.
And also, her looks keep Buster’s attention on her. Although for a while, that was a desirable outcome, Angel has long since come to resent his attraction. She knows she’s just a trophy to him; he doesn’t care about her, he just wants her on his arm to make himself look good. If she wasn’t so pretty, again, she feels this would be less of an issue.
