I feel the fandom overlooks the predatory? Playful? Behaviour of Reisi towards Kuroh from the canon series in favor of mikorei/reisaru/reiseri đ even the Gakuen K manga forgets it. What are your thoughts on it?
Once again, Munakata is being creepy towards a teenager XD I know Iâve seen a bit of MunaKuroh doujinshi but youâre right, itâs pretty overlooked by the fandom. Their relationship is pretty amusing to me because I think Kuroh is thoroughly creeped out by the Blue King while Munakata thinks heâs just being pleasant and complimentary (well, not during their S1 fight but later in ROK heâs definitely trying to be personable). In season one Munakata did seem to enjoy toying with Kuroh a little during their fight which is kind of an interesting contrast between how he handles Mikoto, like this is the one time we really see Munakata pitted against an opponent that he is objectively stronger than and he does seem to be enjoying himself. At the same time he does seem to be holding himself back a bit, I think heâs kinda equally interested in keeping Kuroh contained but also just seeing what Kuroh can do, like this is Munakataâs way of sizing up someone heâs just met. Their season one interaction definitely feels more on the predatory end of things â Munakata is totally showing his S side here â and this clearly has Kuroh more on edge later on knowing what this person is capable of.Â
In general on Munakataâs end, Munakata seems to see Kurohâs presence here as something of a wild card and as we know Munakata has a tendency to want wild cards in his hand. In episode two of ROK heâs clearly interested in making a play to kidnap another teenager for his clan, though I donât think heâs actually trying to be intimidating at that time â he just has this thing about getting right up into peopleâs personal space. Poor Kuroh for his part doesnât seem to know how to deal with this guy, Munakata is different than other Kings heâs dealt with and not being close enough to Munakata to be aware of his, uh, lighter/dorkier side I think itâs more worrisome on his end. I feel like their interactions on a more personal basis could be amusing, with Kuroh still not sure how to deal with this man and Munakata thinking heâs being so pleasant and how strange that Kuroh doesnât want to accept his overtures of friendship. Munakata isnât shy when he thinks someone could be useful to him and I think thatâs squarely where Kuroh falls for most of the series for him, while Kuroh I think feels he should respect Munakata as the Blue King but heâs also pretty overwhelmed by the force of Munakataâs personality.
Au, Au, Au... What about: [ship of your choice] (maybe MunakataxKuroh if you could...) and AU "future". And let's say that your ship meet(s ?) in a ship going to underwater city for holiday and the rest is up to you (some fluff and angst?) ^^ Flying cars, spots where you can teleport, advanced medicine that can make you look like a completely different person, and any other futuristic thing you can think about. Sorry, I'm totally hopeless when it come to think about AUs orz
MY DEAREST NAMI. Here I come, bringing you this AU incredibly late. Like a year late. And iâm sorry itâs so short. I kind of think of this as a prologue to a bigger world that could be expanded. It was my first time writing Kuroh, but hopefully you like it!

Full Fic Under Cut, Thanks to @its-love-u-asshole for beta-ing!Â
Kuroh wasnât surprised the Oceanic Vessel was packed full with people. It was new and exciting, and people had been discussing the opening of the Oceanic Dome for quite some time now. Many had expected humanity to spread its reaches to space, and so it came as a shock when their resources led them to expand underwater.
The Oceanic Dome; it was meant to be a new habitat for humans, a place where they could watch the vast undersea world move around them, all from the safety and comfort of the enclosed dome.
At first, only those who could afford to buy their way in were allowed to inhabit the Dome. The goal was to bring those rich enough so they would later sponsor the creation of more Oceanic Domes in the future.
But now, they had opened up a lottery. 100 lucky winners, no more, no less, would be sent to the Oceanic Dome, and Kuroh had been selected.
There was nothing left for him on land. His master, Ichigen, had passed away rather suddenly, and Kuroh couldnât think of a better reason to hide away under the ocean, living in a beautiful new place. Ichigen had taught him many thingsâfate often led people in strange directions, and when offered an amazing chance for an adventure, he should take it.
And this really had been an amazing offer, one only 100 people were getting to take. The Vessel was enormousâlong windows lined the side, meant for the passengersâ viewing pleasure. Fish swam by, dolphins, whales, most completely ignoring the presence of the large Vessel next to them, but a few dolphins flipped by the window, as though they were putting on a show.
Kurohâs deep cerulean eyes lit up, shimmering against the glass as he stared at the scene in front of him. The ocean was impossible to see through, the deep blue color as endless as he had expected. It was thrilling, and terrifying. He was sure Ichigen wouldâve been proud.
âMarvelous to look at, isnât it?â A deep voice spoke next to him. The tone was smooth, and proper, but had a slight lilt to it, as though he had already solved the mystery of the vast blue water in front of them.
Kuroh turned to glance at the owner of the voice, and was surprised by the man beside him. He was tall, with deep blue hair, small pieces of which framed his thin face. He had metal framed glasses which sat upon his nose perfectly. His suit was a deep blue, though slightly brighter than his hair, and his jacket was long, wrapping around his waist as the bottom flowed out around his hips. He was incredibly handsome, beautiful, was perhaps a better word to use. His violet eyes were stunning against the shimmering blue ocean outside of the window.
âYes, I would say it is,â Kuroh spoke back.
âThe ocean is full of so many mysteries we do not understand, and this Dome is one step forward. Hopefully we can come to understand more,â he said. His lips curled upwards into a smile, and his eyes were now closed, though he turned his head in Kurohâs direction. The man really was stunningly beautiful.
âDo youâŚwork for the Dome research team?â Kuroh asked. The way the man spoke, it seemed as though he were involved in someway, though it was a mystery as to why this man had chosen to speak to him.
He chuckled, his deep voice vibrating in his chest. âNo, no. Nothing like that, I was selected,â he paused, âas were you, I presume?â
Kuroh nodded. âYes, one of the 100. My late master always told me I should take any chances to experience new things, so I chose to try.â
âOya? Late master?â The man asked, raising an eyebrow.
âAh, the man I studied with,â Kuroh explained. âI studied the historical arts, mostly swordplay.â He wasnât sure why he was speaking about these things to this mysterious stranger. There was a small part of him that felt uneasy around the man.
âHow fascinating,â he hummed. âA swordsman.â
âMost donât realize they still exist,â Kuroh sighed. âA forgotten art, you could say.â There was a sadness in his voice, as he recalled the many days and nights heâd spent meditating, learning, studying.
âIt is unfortunate,â the man said. Interesting, the way he spoke, it seemed as though he was completely aware of the dying art. âIâm Munakata Reisi,â the man said, nodding his head once more at Kuroh.
âYatogami Kuroh,â he said.
âItâs nice to meet you. I hope you do not mind me imposing on your time. I saw you standing by the window and I couldnât help but speak to you. You interested me,â Munakata said.
Turning back towards the window, Kuroh let out a sigh, a small smile on his lips. âI donât know why.â This man was peculiar, to say the least.
Stepping forward, Munakata pressed his hand to the window and slowly spread his fingers out. âThe way you looked out the window, I thought perhaps you felt similar about the ocean. I thought we could share a connection of sorts,â Munakata chuckled. âWhat do you plan to do once we arrive at the Oceanic Dome?â he asked.
Kuroh shrugged, returning his gaze to the window. âI wasnât quite sure. Start over, I suppose,â he said. âAnd yourself?â â¨â¨
âI see,â Munakata nodded. âI thought I could expand my knowledge of the world. This is a completely new venture for humanity, different from land, different from space, yet it is still vast and unknown. Itâs terrifying, yet hopeful, though we donât know whatâs in store for us.â
âAre you sure youâre not a researcher?â Kuroh asked.
Munakata laughed again, this time reaching into the pocket of his pants, pulling out a small case. Popping it open, he handed Kuroh a business card. âIâm to be the new head of security,â he explained. âAnd based on what youâve told me, Iâd love to make you part of my team.â
âHah?â Kuroh muttered. Head of security, it seemed fitting for the man somehow, especially since he was so poised, calm and collected.
âAs I said, there are many things we do not know. We donât know how people will react to this environment over a long period of time, there are many variables, but this is the future,â he gestured back to the window as a school of fish swam by.
Leaning forward, Munakata placed his thumb on Kurohâs chin, and tilted his head up, their eyes close. Kuroh felt his cheeks flush and he wondered if Munakata knew anything about personal space; the action had been shocking to say the least. âI need someone like you in my squad, Yatogami Kuroh. Calm, collected, trained,â he said softly, staring into Kurohâs eyes. Up close, the manâs violet eyes seemed intelligent and dangerous, as though he knew exactly how to get everything he wanted.
Stepping back, he handed his card to Kuroh, who stayed silent. âI think we could get along, quite well,â Munakata said, smiling once again. âOnce youâre settled, feel free to contact me. I wish you luck in this new frontier, though I do hope to see you again.â
âAlright,â Kuroh said quietly, his throat dry.
As he walked away, Kurohâs heart continued to throb, and he ran his finger over the corner of the card. Head of security. He really hadnât decided what to do yet, but it would be nice to be able to put his training to use in the Dome. Kuroh could tell living in the Dome was going to be a life changing experience, whether he chose to contact Munakata or not.
Glancing out towards the window, he watched as a pod of dolphins swam by, making clicking noises as they flipped about through the water. Kuroh thought the ocean was truly vast, and incredibly mysterious, but perhaps not as mysterious as the beautiful man, Munakata Reisi.
