I am a wedding junkie. The way most people feel about sports, fashion, and music is the way I feel about weddings. I spend hours online perusing websites to see how others have executed their dream weddings. I compare real-life ceremonies and even analyze fictional weddings. If it’s about a wedding, I’m in there. Without the Internet, I don’t know where I would be (probably browsing through old family wedding albums and watching historic VHS tapes). Nonetheless, the Internet makes my wedding obsession possible. Down below are my top five favorite wedding blogs and sites (with links to each). I hope you enjoy these as much as “I do!”
1. Bridal Musings
I’ve been a fan of this website for a while. Based in the UK, this bridal blog is definitely not one-sided. It has everything a hopeful bride or wedding enthusiast could ever want - from DIY tips to real-life wedding inspiration. This blog covers all the basics, including planning and budgeting (the most important pieces to any wedding). I truly love this blog because it ties together the logical and aesthetically-pleasing aspects of the wedding business.
2. MunaLuchi Bridal
I love, love, love MunaLuchi! This website is a fairly new discovery of mine, but it perfectly captures everything I love about weddings. It combines culture and style and adds a touch of sophistication. What I truly love about this website (and magazine!) is that it caters to the minority bride. As an African-American woman, it can be hard to find images and inspiration that reflect my personal lifestyle. MunaLuchi definitely deserves a place on this list for that reason alone.
3. Bridal Guide
Bridal Guide is actually a magazine, but its website is the ultimate playground for future brides and bridal enthusiasts. If you’re like me and don’t subscribe to magazines much these days, but still want all of the exciting information that comes with the subscription, BridalGuide.com is your site. I read a review that praised Bridal Guide for being the go-to source for “real brides.” I definitely believe this to be true. Bridal Guide is not pretentious, nor is it uptight or boring. The writers and contributors provide practical information for the modern bride with a sophisticated, real-world twist. I will definitely be using this site to help plan, budget, and shop for my own wedding.
4. The Knot
The Knot is the perfect website for anybody planning a wedding. You may have heard local brides talking about The Knot, and I am here to tell you the rumors are true. The Knot is a wonderful source for all things wedding-related because it gives users real-time information. Vendors utilize The Knot to showcase their skills and services. Brides can find everything from caterers to hair stylists in their area. The Knot also includes its own articles and tips for planning and budgeting, like any good wedding website should. If you’re looking for a site that’s modern, helpful and easy to navigate, The Knot is your best bet.
5. Pinterest
I am a Pinterest junkie, so its no wonder this site is on my list. A lot of bloggers use Pinterest to find those quirky DIY projects or to swoon over the latest trends. I use Pinterest for both of these things. I love seeing what creative ideas other wedding enthusiasts have come up with. Pinterest is a great site (not just for weddings) to inspire and motivate. I have so many pins on my wedding board, and I am nowhere near married; but just the idea of having so many great tips and tricks already excites me. If you’ve never thought about using Pinterest for wedding-related ideas, hop on board (literally).
