girl of your dreams: how it all started

“Come on, Dream, please!” Sylvee begs. “Just this once, you know you want to.”

“I agreed to makeup, not a wig,” Dream argues, holding up the mess of false curly hair. Even in his hand, it feels bizarre. “We agreed no wigs.”

Before he can blink, the bundle is snatched from his grasp. “Okay, first of all, don’t hold them like that, you’re gonna mess up the curls,” Sylvee quips, gingerly adjusting the squished locks. “And second of all, they’re extensions, not a wig. So, technically, it’s within our agreement.”

At Dream’s bemused raised eyebrow, she sighs. “Please, it’s not as bad as you think, and it’ll be quick, I promise,” she says earnestly. “You’ve already done the bulk of it, I just need a few more shots, that’s it.”

For a tense moment, Dream chews his lip in thought. “Fine,” he caves, smiling as Sylvee cheers, “put the damn extensions on me.”

“This is gonna be so good!”

“I think you broke him,” Velvet snickers, looking between Dream and George, who continues to stare resolutely at the wall beside Sylvee’s display, red faced.

“Both of them,” Sapnap laughs, snapping his fingers in front of Sam’s wide eyes. “Bro, get it together.”

Sylvee smiles, happy to see her friends enjoying her work. She’s never been much of a photographer, but when the final for her beginners’ costume design class required a photo shoot display, they were more than willing to help her out. “Hey, don’t give Dream all the credit,” she chides lightly. “Gia and I put a lot of hard work into that look.”

“But those big eyes are all him,” Gia giggles.

As the rest of group begins to mingle, talking amongst themselves, another young woman quietly steps up beside Dream to admire the display. “She’s really beautiful,” she muses.

Dream blinks, startled. “Hm? Who?”

“The girl in the yellow sundress,” she gestures.

The girl in gingham. Him. Dream.

“Oh…”

“Actually, I—I see a lot of myself in her,” she continues, “things about myself I’d never really considered beautiful before. Like, look at her eyes, they’re so deep. And her jawline is soft, not sharp. Her arms too, they’re bigger than other girls’, but that’s not bad.” A hand drifts to wrap around her own arm. “She looks gentle. Pretty. Kind.”

Staring into his own eyes, frozen forever in that afternoon three weeks ago, Dream feels a warm weight settle in his chest. He never expected to see that in himself, let alone have someone else be the one to recognize it for him. He could hardly believe the woman’s words, and yet, there they were, looking right back at him.

“I don’t know who she is, but I hope maybe someday I’ll see her again elsewhere,” the woman says, turning to the next display. “The world needs more of her.”

As quietly as she came, Dream watches her walk away. Seconds pass, and with them the warmth in his chest glows brighter. He turns back to look at himself—to look at The Girl in Gingham.

“Hey,” says Sylvee, coming up behind him. She looks concerned. “You okay, Dream?”

“I—“ Gentle. Pretty. Kind. “I think I want to be a model.”

he drinks the fire res as he jumps into lava and bad dies falling after him

tricks the hunters into thinking his fire res is more strength

as bad and sapnap turn back, he shoots an arrow from a mountain and hits bad from ~100 blocks away

3v1 finale

building a new nether portal to trick bad

splashing an invis pot so no one knows who anyone is

he sets up an end crystal trap in the stronghold and kills them all

bad sneaks up on him and kills him when he’s on half a heart after just killing the other two in the end

3v1 finale rematch

wearing bad’s skin

building his nether portal in a tower

dropping his sword just in time to land on a horse after being knocked from his portal with no water

placing boats under him to cross a lava lake

dropping tnt into the end portal and putting the hunters in the void

snd promptly use a fishing rod to pull ant and bad up and kill them from fall damage

we all know it, we all love it. Towering up in the middle of a lake and using frostwalker boots to kill the hunters when they fall

the hunters using end crystals to heal the dragon

ant jumping down in the temple with him and setting the tnt off

he kills sapnap and ant with a tnt minecart

the hunters getting prot 4 armour

building a portal on the nether roof and trapping them there with no flint and steel, leaving them to kill themselves to escape

he digs under the end stone and hides in the middle, exploding bed after bed under the dragon as it perches

4v1 finale

ladder clutching when sapnap knocks him down off a tower on the edge of a mountain

trapping sapnap and george in cobwebs and blowing them up

hunters getting full enchanted diamond armour and building a huge castle around the nether portal that dream combats by drinking an invis pot

entity cramming george with minecarts and getting his gear

he lands an MLG on the side of an ISLAND when the dragon hits him

half a heart and no hunger but still chasing the hunters

the western showdown between dream and sapnap

the under-lava duel between dream and sapnap

ant killing dream with a splash potion

setting off fireworks and killing all the hunters in the portal room

throwing a pearl, bone-mealing saplings, and landing on the fully grown tree

building another flying machine

sapnap stopping him by breaking a slime block and sacrificing himself

basically this whole end, dude

dropping tnt and instantly killing four of the hunters, slime clutching and bouncing down to george

fishing his pearls and surviving (perfect throwback to 2v1)
