Miss Piggy trying to break free from the mast, screaming at the sailors to cut her loose so she can vault off the ship to murder those ancient harpies.

... my housemate said Kermit totally is the type to tell suitors he'll marry one of them, but they'll have to excuse him, he has to get the weaving done first.

My thought is, same.

Imagine Kermit creeping out into the main room at night, his little mouth curled in effort as he muppet-sneaks over to undo the weaving from the day before...

Miss Piggy gets back, takes one look around the room full of suitors after HER Kermie, just dives in with a "HI-YAH!!"

my plan is to post it online if/when i finish it, but it's fallen behind in my priorities lol so im not sure when that'll be 🥹 I really do want to finish it eventually though! really happy so many people seem to get a kick out of it like i do!!

also if you dont know about it you might be interested in epic the musical? it's an in-progress musical about the odyssey which uses that pun much better than i do heehee

will Kermit make an appearance in Muppet odyssey

he absolutely will but im actually not 100% on where to cast him yet. i THINK my plan is to cast him as odysseus' second in command, which would have to be eurylochus. I would have to change some of his personality traits - that's not new to the muppets, since muppet treasure island swapped around a couple plot points and even gender bent a character so that kermit and piggy could have their muppet mandated romance. so my actual plan which ive solidified over the course of answering this ask:

cast kermit as eurylochus

when ody and co land on circe's (piggy's) island, eurylochus falls in love with circe and vice versa. (this... kind of works? since eurylochus isn't suckered in by circe look don't question it)

eurylochus stays behind on the island with circe when the rest of them leave

this also means that when they get to the sacred cattle of helios, i don't have to make kermit into a treacherous snake who convinces everyone to eat the sacred cattle

i ALSO get around having to KILL KERMIT, which up until now i was really fretting about because everyone dies in this god damn journey and i can't KILL KERMIT in a MUPPET FILM

hahahah i would really like to!! i never have any time or energy to write these days. but seeing people respond to it and enjoy it is pretty motivating, so i hope i'll be able to keep working on it.

Would love to see the continued script of A Very Muppet Odyssey; it really is continuing the spirit of Jim Henson's love of storytelling with a mixture of his other favorite things: music, comedy, and entertainment.

thank you, this is such a kind thing to say - i have a lot of love for jim henson's approach to art and entertainment so im very honoured to be told my silly little writing project is in the spirit of his work. id love to continue it if i have the time! ideally ill finish the script and pop it online for people to read.
