@murdcrbear.
nagito has already come to terms with two facts: he’s never going to see another person ever again, nor will anyone see him ... not alive, at least. evidently, he’s known he’ll die young & alone for a longer time than he can remember, & he’s thought about offing himself before even that — but he hasn’t been plotting his own death like this because he’s so overwhelmed with despair. if that were the case, this would be simpler. he can think of a thousand ways to kill himself that would hardly require planning at all, ways that wouldn’t really call for a class trial, ways that would serve as nothing more than a final reminder to his classmates that nagito komaeda hated himself more than any one of them could ever have hated him. that might be true, & it might help him out, but it certainly isn’t the reason why he’s going through with this.
one of the fire grenades is full of poison, & not even nagito knows who’s going to throw it. he does know they’ll be the one to kill him, & if luck goes his way, they’ll also be the traitor. ( if he’s confident enough to do this, he must believe in his talent, even if he’s put it down again & again. ) everyone’s split themselves up, searching for explosives that don’t really exist — & after they discover his decoy in the monokuma factory, they’ll fall all the way into his trap, inadvertently sparking the fire which will become a key point in his demise. there’s already a line of monokuma cutouts leading like dominoes from the warehouse’s front door, ready to fall into a lighter once someone opens it up. depressing music is blasting on a music player near the same place, & all the tools he needs are within reach. this is going to be where he dies, & he won’t leave again. that’s okay. this death, his death, will be in the name of hope: by killing everyone but the traitor, he’ll guarantee the end of despair. that’s nagito’s real goal.
the ropes are uncomfortable around his bony ankles, but he knows the worst is yet to come. his resolve is rooted in his beliefs, & seeing as how those beliefs are all he has to hold onto, it’s safe to say that nagito won’t be backing out of this now. his arms are still free, although one wrist has a burnt rope tied securely around it, & he’s sitting up on the floor with the curtain drawn, making his environment feel even smaller than it is. good thing he’s not claustrophobic. at the moment, he’s using a knife to stab a hole in the monokuma plush he brought here from the factory. he works quickly, knowing his plan will soon come to fruition. of course, there’s nothing in that plan which accounts for being rudely disturbed ...
@murdcrbear : ‘ trying to get rid of me? oh honey, you’ll have to try much harder than that. ’ (( :3c ))
It’s true that so far their attempts at uncovering the truth and putting an end to this cruelty have proved to be utterly futile. Nagito cared little about his own well-being, and what may become of him on this accursed island --- but he would not witness the downfall of hope embodied. And for that, he felt the sting of Monokuma’s sadistic jeering.
The air was still & humid and the oceanic scent once symbiotic with carefree smiles was now nothing more than miasma. It would forever remind him of death. . . . If he were to survive, that is. This is what you want isn’t it. Stripping hope in place of despair, turning good to bad. Unforgivable. Nagito crossed his arms tightly gripping his bicep without awareness. He felt sick to his stomach.
❛ You haven’t made it easy for us, that’s true. But anyone could have figured that. You’re calculating, and you’re relying on a certain set of events to unfold, right? ❜ After all, there’s a reason they were dragged here. ❛ For someone full of despair, goading Hope’s Peak elites into picking each other off is the ultimate display. But you’re underestimating hope. So believe me --- You’re not gonna be crowned victor when this is all over. ❜

kokichi is pretty much monokuma’s favorite son now. raised by the bear since childhood when he had escaped the care of his orphanage, these two cause chaos the world over.
trained in the art of despair, let’s just say that things can only go downhill from here.
you thought that you had enough to deal with with only monokuma -- when his favorite child arrives on scene, you better rethink that.
