My close encounter with the Murderhawk in 2023.
Lance Archer
"I asked and you said you didn't wanna go, it's not a big deal." She smiled brushing her hair, watching him through the bathroom mirror. "I've never made you do something you didn't want to and I'm not about to start now."
"That's a lie," Lance's husky chuckle made her body shiver, but she tried to play it off as if he hadn't seen it. His voice always had that effect on her.
"When?" She turned on him with her full focus, scrunched brows, and a curious glare.
"The handcuffs ring a bell?" Wiggling his eyebrows and a devilish smirk. The incident replaying through his mind, that had been one hell of a night with her.
"Oh fuck off!" Rolling her eyes before they disappeared as she pulled one of his sweatshirts over her head, getting lost in the baggy material. "You loved the handcuffs and the way you moaned my name says so."
Smacking her palms against his chest, her eyes wandering. He stood before her grey sweats hung low on his hips, no t-shirt, a sheen of sweat still clung to his body. Grabbing hold of her waist and pulling her close, eyeing the love bite he'd left on her neck.

A small part of him felt like garbage for telling her he didn't want to go out with her friends, but the longer he sat alone in his hotel room, the more upset with himself he got.
He had no business being pissed or even jealous of the guys she was hanging out with because it'd been his brilliant idea to keep their 'encounters' hush-hush. Not exactly friends with benefits, but not quite a relationship either.
Lance never saw anyone else besides her, didn't flirt or fuck around with anyone, just her, and her alone. So why he couldn't admit to himself that he needed her exclusively was a daily struggle.

Trying to blend in with the crowd wasn't an easy task with his stature, maybe it was his death glare. Weaving his way through families and groups of people, scanning the crowd for her.
The current city AEW had them in for the next couple of days was in the midst of a fall harvest festival. An explosion of autumn colors everywhere. The smell of fried goodness & excited screams and noise from an abundance of rides.
Endless stalls of food & games; rides as far as the eyes could see. Hay bales and pumpkins, and Halloween decorations littered the scene. Following what sounded like her laughter, Lance caught her coming off a ride with Ruby, Santana, and Eddie. Moxley and Ortiz laughed at how nauseous Eddie looked, Y/n rubbing his back out of sympathy.
Swallowing down unwarranted rage, it wasn't like she was doing anything wrong. What Lance felt was on him, he never planned on falling in love with her. She didn't notice his presence behind her but her friends sure did.
Lance didn't exactly have the greatest working relationship with any of them. On many occasions, he'd beaten the hell out of all of them in the ring. Santana and Ortiz glared, Ruby biting her tongue from popping off at the mouth. Moxley looked as if he couldn't care less but his fidgety demeanor said otherwise.
"Tha fuck you want?" Eddie stood up straight glaring past her.
Lance's death glare softened as she turned towards him. Her whole face lit up as she smiled. That damned smile of hers swelled his ego, his heart. What the hell had he been thinking, there was no way it was ever gonna work out not falling for her.
"Heya sugar," leaning in kissing her with enough gusto to show his intent, an arm around her back hugging her close.
She buried her face in his chest, arms snaking around him. A hug that lingered just a bit longer than usual, but neither minded one bit. It felt right, all of it. Right time, right girl, right moment.
Glancing up beaming with bright eyes he loved, the smile widening across his mouth. She was without a doubt the most magnificent woman that'd ever crossed his path.
"Thought you didn't wanna come?" she teased as he rolled his eyes feigning annoyance.
"Couldn't let my girl have fun without me." Hefting her over his shoulder listening to her giggle, stomping towards the scariest ride he could find.
"The hell is going on?" Kingston sputtered disgusted.
"Not sure," Mox groaned. "But if he breaks her heart we're gonna make sure they never find the body right?" The others nodding in agreement.
