Sometimes, when he can’t sleep, he likes to play a game with himself. It’s like telling stories, but lonelier. He tries to imagine what would have happened if he had trusted his brothers, or her, if he had told someone. Or if he hadn’t killed Fives. Or if he had decided to not take out his chip. Or if he had gone that night to the Supreme Chancellor’s office when he saw the Jedi arrive, grim and determined, and put a shot in the demagolka’s head instead of looking, horrified, at what was going on from the security booth two floors down. It’s an awful game, with no winners and no losers, and Fox’s gotten extremely good at it.

9. longest wip of the year

..... the yojimbo au. 64k and counting. at this rate it’ll end up being around 100k or so. the other day i made myself write out the summary; here it is:

Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan learner Anakin Skywalker travel to the mining colony of Tchuta-1, a small moon in a system in the middle of nowhere. Their  mission is to mediate a conflict between the owners of the rhydonium mines and its workers: something easy and kind of boring, the perfect mission for teams like theirs.

However, once they get there, their shuttle is shot down, and they find themselves on a Hutt-controlled moon that appears to be in the throes of a vicious gang war between the Hutts’ overseer and his former lieutenant... and hunted by the most dangerous bounty hunter in the galaxy, Jango Fett.

Hm okay, so my favorite aesthetic is like 1940s clothes in a historic city, on the old side streets where you can still see the remains of old family shops and if you’re lucky one might still be open. (I have no idea how else to describe that lmao)

Favorite color is orange!! Yes, truly and long standing love for bright ass orange.

Favorite drink. Um. Alcohol based would be apple juice and vodka mix. Non alcoholic is definitely sweet tea, but the proper kind you have to grow up drinking or else it’s like getting punched in the teeth with sugar.

It's been hard coming up with an artist/band/whatever that's not SW related (🤡), but I think it's a tie between Carpenter Brut and María José Llergo (i contain multitudes)

9. Best month for you this year?

Literally can't remember shit. I know summer is a thing that happened but it's all a blur. Maybe november? November was a good month. Nothing really happened and it's when the season 2 of The Mandalorian started airing.

19. What’re you excited about for next year?

Couldn't think of anything at first but then I remembered: I've got two (2) books coming out (two anthologies, though, nothing fancy)!! And a project that's very dear to me and that's grown a lot is turning two 😭

D: Is there a song or a playlist to associate with ["king of the damned" 'verse]?

Generally speaking, I tend to find music distracting when reading or writing, but I did slap on the Season 7 soundtrack when writing "peace is a lie". That was more for a properly "depressed and panicking" headspace than anything else, though, and since it's a soundtrack for the show itself, that association will always be stronger than the fic's.

E: If you wrote a sequel to ["through victory, my chains are broken"], what would it be about?

My vague sequel would be Hardcase POV, him taking advantage of an opportunity to escape and saving Maul and Savage. He would definitely have immediate "oh no, he's hot" realizations for both of them, and I have a vision of Hardcase dragging them both into a shower so they can all scrape off the Prison Grime after escaping and petting both of their horns. And, obviously, it would result in Maul/Hardcase/Savage, because I want good feral things for my lads.

S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?

*ticks off fingers* Soulmates, sex-pollen, love potions/spells, aphrodisiacs, body-swap, crossovers, role-swaps, arranged marriage, royalty/nobility AUs.

Free cursed thought after reading “through victory, my chains are broken”: Maul and Harcase are monitored by Dooku who takes great care of noting everything they seem to appreciate in the other so he can turn this to his advantage. He waits for the right moment, when Hardcase truly gets attached, to sever their means of communication, making him think Maul either died or escaped without him. Cue the Dooku/Hardcase slow burn 70K rated E I did not ask but have been haunted by ever since. Good day <3
