Bruce carefully made his way up the stairs to Matt's apartment. The last thing he wanted to do was run into one of his friend's neighbors in his current state of barely dressed. His condition tended to destroy his clothes and even in this neighborhood people noticed a guy walking mostly naked and barefoot. He wanted a safe place to hide without causing trouble for Matt. If someone reported he was here then every hero or superpowered person and their relatives would show bringing everything they had and a weaponized kitchen sink with them.
He paused at the top of the stairs to adjust his grip on what was left of his pants then shuffled to Matt’s door.
“It’s open,” he heard Matt say as he raised his hand to knock.
“Damn your Vulcan hearing,” Bruce said as he opened the door. Despite his statement he was relieved that he was welcome here. He didn’t have many friends in this world or people who would listen to his side of a story, Matt was both and Bruce always appreciated that.
