Wha-whaaaaaatttttt!?!?!?!
Moore: We're pretty much allowed to do what we want. We always try to do the book version first. We make changes because it doesn't work for some reason, or maybe we changed a character that means you have to follow a different path – like our Murtagh [Duncan Lacroix] is alive, and clearly that's a change from the storyline.

405: SAVAGES
FROM SEEING THE INITIALS POSTS.. I KNOW I’M IN FOR A ROLLER COASTER OF A RIDE. BELOW ARE MY RAMBLINGS.
As it turns out... I have a lot of THOUGHTS.
(Spoilers most definitely ahead but this is currently me)
304 vs 405: Jamie and Murtagh
This is dedicated to @ecampbellsoup and her love of Jamie and his Godfather.
The last time these two spoke of Claire, they were in prison.
Murtagh was very ill and Jamie had just escaped in an attempt to find the “White Witch.” Jamie could barely speak her name, the pain of losing both her and his child was still too present, too acute. Murtagh places his hand on Jamie, anchoring him to the moment, letting him know he’s not alone. Looking to comfort his Godson, Murtagh asked if he could “pray them sound”- to which Jamie, his face taut as he struggles to maintain his composure, can only say “Aye.”
20 years later, Jamie tells Murtagh that Claire has come back to him.
The look of wonder and shared history in this moment is almost too much to take.
Murtagh, again, places his hand on Jamie’s arm, but this time it is in disbelief, awe, and gratitude. For Murtagh, his prayers have been answered, and his beloved Jamie is finally whole again. Jamie’s face is brimming with pride and happiness, barely containing his emotions as his face beams as he thinks of Claire and his daughter, Brianna.
The juxtaposition of these two moments highlights the deep and unconditional relationship between Jamie and Murtagh. They have endured so much together, and Murtagh has never faltered in his loyalty to Jamie, nor has he ever questioned the impossible circumstances of Claire’s existence in their lives.
They have come full circle and are able to celebrate their reunion and all that is possible now that they have found one another again.

I scream and windmill my arms like a maniac for a solid hour.
