Anthus Ultimate Ref
thing... file... presentation? idk
Hey, hellsite! Thought you've seen the last of me huh >:D
I've recently finalized what I'd consider an ultimate source for my main OC and also fursona, Anthus!
It comes with introducing just exactly what Anthus is, physical specs and what-have-you...
... but most importantly, a shitton of ref images specifically curated from sources that I trust! (Because I am at least 90% certain I'd scare off a lot of potential commissionees without a dozen and a half pages of pics to take inspiration from due to how niche Anthus' choice of clothing is...)
This also should work fine as a general clothes resource for characters based around Southwest Sabah as well as Northern Sarawak and Kalimantan (as long as they are part of a Southwest Sabah speech community!)
So have fun with me creating silly fits for your local Northern Bornean colorpoint moggy here! :3
According to Murut Motifs and Designs Heritage by Ismail Ibrahim, in Murut mythology, flat-headed cats punish those who laugh at farts.
obsessed with this whole 60s vinyl. thank you ivan polunin you will be missed
silly cat plays the sompoton. see below cut for ref image and links
there's something about murut gong ensembles that sound so… psychedelic. like most bornean gong traditions leave roped gongs to hang so they pierce the ears but because muruts grasp theirs, the resulting sounds are heavily dampened… but i'm sure there's more going on here, probably like consonance or whatever
