Hey Tumblr followers! So as some of you may know, I will be embarking on a 10 month student exchange scholarship program called Kennedy-Lugar YES Abroad. I will be hosted in Muscat, Oman with a new family, a new school, a new community, and a new language (Arabic) to adjust to. It will be one heck of a ride, but worth it. This is all part of a decision I've made to go down the path of the foreign service (I hope to be a diplomat or ambassador one day).  I want to chronicle my time in Muscat by blogging and making videos for my new site, The Curly Muscateer (http://www.thecurlymuscateer.tumblr.com/). This site will be dedicated to getting the message out about the benefits of international education for U.S. students. Only 1 in 10,000 of us goes on a year or semester abroad, and I want to make my blog a resource to those who may not even know about the opportunities available to them.
