The snark-handed-comment granted him the perfect opportunity to puff up his chest, and as much as she liked joking with him, she was going to have to keep up the façade. The kiss had been enjoyable to her, comparable to something you’ve been saving up for and finally get. Only thing was, her instinctive nature was in the process of recoiling her true feelings. They were hunters. Sure it was good now, but for how long? Rolling her eyes at his ‘busy,’ comment, her lips pressed in a tight line. “Maybe being busy has made you sloppy. The whole false ego thing is a real thing, Dean. It’s knocked you off your game so you’re not putting that much effort into it.” shaking her head, finally feeling like she gained the upper hand, she took a sip of the beer--setting it down as a playful smile met with his gaze. “Such a shame too.” biting the inside of her cheek she played off like she didn’t want to give it another try. “I don’t know, the moment’s passed. The intrigues fading...” she shrugged over her shoulder.
