"Wait. What's scandisk?"

".... Scan-dis DICK FIT IN YOUR MOUTH!" Claps. "GOTTEM!"

Mawile raises his hands as he and Tor give each other a high five. UP TOP!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Calem enters the scene, being chased by a flock of Wingull as he's holding a box with a distinctly sweet scent to it. When he finds Serena, he quickly places the box on her hands and gestures for her to start running as well.

"IT'SMYBIRTHDAYSOIFIGUREDIT'SYOURCALEM'SBIRTHDAYTOOANDIWANTEDTOGIVEYOUSOMETHINGTOCHEERYOUUP!" He says incredibly quickly. He does live in a port town, so there's always a lot of Wingull right outside his house and it seems that the box contains some kind of food, which is why they're so fixated on it.

When Serena does open the box, she'll find a bunch of pastries from Calem's birth region! They're called bomboloni. She also gets the full undivided attention of all those Wingull.

"Oh, hey Neighbor." It looks like Serena's messing with both time and space when you think about it! "Happy birthd—"

!!!

"CALEM WHAT THE FUCK!" She's now dashing to avoid all of the Wingull. She's desperately opening it to figure out what the hubbub is about....

.... it's a bunch of pastries?

Oh, now that suddenly makes sense. She closed the box, took out a Poké Ball, and tossed it out.

Serena sent out Talonflame!

Serena hopped on Talonflame with the box. Time to dart it home as fast as she can so she can enjoy these.

"Tor! Leifi! Go take five. We'll handle it from here for a bit!"

Tor turned around to see who was talking to her while this whole mess was going on. "It's fine. We can deal with m—"

Zygarde-Alpha used Thousand Arrows of Judgment! It's super effective against Pyroar! Critical Hit against Talonflame! Several Pokémon fainted!

"You should watch yourself more, Tor. That Talonflame had its eyes for you."

"Told you. We'll take it from here."

"S—Serena! Zygarde!"

Both Tor and Leifi backed off. Tor even recalled her friends.

"Damn. Nice bod, visage."

"Thank you. We have named this form 'Zafina'. We are glad that you like it."

"Of course, Zafina~. Well, we'll leave it to you. We won't be long, so don't hog up all of the fun."

"I hold no promises."

Leifi walked away. "Come now, little one."

Tor reverted. "Coming, mom!" She started speeding to catch up.

"Great. With that out of the way..."

Zygarde transformed.

"Which one of you wishes to try us first?"

Oh, it's go time.

Despite her constantly conflicting feelings, she will still manage to play it straight when battling Calem, so a funky theme when she's battled is warranted.

However, considering her existing past history, if/when she ever challenges Yveltal after it takes that Calem, you bet that something epic is coming, and that either Zygarde or her Calem's old busted Mega Gardevoir is coming out.

"Alright." Serena was in the tall grass with Delphox, who was laying on her lap. They were having a picnic together and it looked like they just finished eating. "I'm telling you, Delphox. one more set of training, and we'll all be set for the day."

"[Del.]" Delphox snuggled even closer to Serena. She was enjoying the moment.

"Yeah! That's the spirit. Just a bit of relaxing does the body good."

Delphox nodded.

It seemed that neither of them had any idea that they were getting caught up.

[TRUE AGENCY] [The One That Takes] Calem

Serena was sitting in her room playing with Delphox when there was a knock on the door. Because Vaniville Town wasn't particularly a large town and not many people visit her at her home, there were only a few possible people that Serena could narrow down who it could be. "Coming," she shouted out as she finished petting Delphox and walked towards her door.

A second knock on the door caused her to walk a little faster towards her door. She started walking to her door and slowly opened it. "Hey," she called out. "I was just petting Delpho—"

Upon opening the door, Serena could see the full view for herself: Calem was on the other side with a bouquet of flowers and a set of chocolates. He smiled as he saw Serena's face. "Hey, neighbor."

"Hey." Serena pushed her hair out of the way and smiled. "You… wanna come in?"

"Can I?"

Serena opened the door and walked deeper into her room, allowing Calem to come in and close the door behind him. Serena recalled Delphox and placed the Poké Ball on the counter where she keeps her balls. Calem meanwhile, placed the flowers at the corner of her bed and sat on the bed himself, where Serena eventually joined him. Together, they were quiet for a moment as they looked in each other's eyes. They each were thinking separately of each other, of this special moment, and of the possible future, but one of them needed to speak at some point.

"I was reached out by Leaf and Hilda about possibly helping them start this group together called the Starter Squad recently. They said that they wanted to gather all of the people that saved their region recently in a big group chat so we could maybe battle or have fun together."

"That's really ambitious. Do they allow rivals, too?"

Serena smirked and rolled her eyes at him. "If you're asking so you can join, yes, you can. I deliberately asked about you."

"That's… nice of you."

"Yeah. You know that I'm not going to try to leave you behind, Calem. You're my—" Serena abruptly stopped speaking. She started to get a sense of Deja Vu.

"I'm your what?" Calem blinked. "Everything alright?"

Serena blinked before shaking her head and looking back at him. "N—nothing. We're rivals, right?"

"Right." Calem nodded. "Rivals."

Serena's smile softened as she continued to look at him. Her heart started to pound on her chest. Before she knew it, the two were getting closer, even touching shoulder to shoulder. They looked at each other in silence as their faces started to move towards each other…. Calem's eyes closed, and Serena's followed suit….

The crash of thunder was the first thing that Serena heard from her bed in the hotel room. It crashed so hard that it not only woke her up, but it caused her to jump.

"C—Calem!"

Serena looked around the room. She was still situated in Hotel Z, with her Delphox and other Pokémon in their respective balls. Serena sat up and blew a stray strand of hair away from her face.

"Another dream. Swear it's only at the most random of times now."

Serena let out a large yawn and moved to her bag. She took out a small Poké Puff and started eating it for herself before taking out 2 more and placing them on a plate with her stored Poké Balls. "Here you guys go." She took another bite of her Puff and sat on the bed. They won't be awake for another couple of hours, but she had it out in case Gardevoir or Artemis-Zygarde were interested if they woke up early. Now, though, once she's done this Poké Puff, it was just time to relax and sleep for the rest of the night for her…

… is what she would have done were it not for the knock on the door.

Serena looked over to the door. Maybe she was hearing things. After all, it's been a while since she's been at this hotel, and she did have one of those dreams again….

… but then there was a second knock on the door along with an undeniable sound.

"Serena."

Serena jumped up and nearly dropped her Puff. "C—Calem?" Serena slowly rose to her feet again. She froze as she stared towards the entrance of her room.

…

…

"Neighbor?"

That definitely sounded like him. Maybe she was hearing things again?

…

The knocking repeated.

Serena stared at the door as she reached and grabbed her Mega Ring and Gardevoir's Poké Ball. Serena slowly started creeping towards the door. "I'm… I'm coming."

Serena made it to the door. There was no peephole at the door, so she pressed her ear against it.

…

…

"Serena?"

Serena made a quick squeal and jumped back, knocking herself to her bottom. She could still hear him from the other side of the door. How could that be possible? Serena jumped back on her feet and swung the door open as hard and as fast as she could.

"Cale—huh?"

Serena peeked out the door before looking to her right and left. There was no one in sight. No Calem. No ghost. Nothing. Serena let out a sigh. Maybe she really was imagining this whole thing. She was really tired, after all, and she does tend to hallucinate after that dream at times.

"[Krow…]"

"Huh?"

Serena looked down at her feet. Corbin was down there, getting ready to peck at her toes.

"Oh. It's just you, Corbin." Serena reached down and picked Corbin up with her free hand. "Hey there, buddy. Tired of being with Lilian tonight?"

"[Murkrow!]" Corbin shook his body, allowing for his feathers to fluff a bit.

Serena laughed. "Here. You can come in for the night."

Serena placed Gardevoir's Poké Ball back where it belonged before closing the door and carrying Corbin back to bed with her. She then shared the rest of her Poké Puff with him and cuddled with him laying down. Corbin looked satisfied with this arrangement.

"Sorry about that, Corbin. I… I had a dream about my friend again, and my brain starts to hallucinate things for a while until I get back to sleep. That's why I took so long."

"[Krow.]" Murkrow didn't seem to mind.

"Anyway, I'll bring you back to Lilian when we're all awake tomorrow. For now, goodnight."

"[Murkrow~]" Murkrow seemed to imitate Serena's goodnight tone.

Serena fell asleep once again. Luckily, this second time didn't feature the same dream with Calem, so it was uneventful.
