Kathy was putting stuff away in her new room. The fact that she was going to be living separately from her old man was... a little heartbreaking, now that she thinks about it. She thought that he was a little annoying, yes, but she couldn't help but be enamored by him... at least in a way that a daughter could. To wake up and know that he wasn't living here, even if he was nearby, it was difficult to process.
Her Aunt Wyvern was in Kathy's room with her, putting things away as well. She attempted to return to Kalos after going missing, but both Team Draco and the Dragon's Lair had no more need for her, as she was overruled in the former and forced to step down in the latter. She attempted to make her case to the non-profit and the government, and even tried to have both Kathy and Rayquaza join her in that effort, but there was nothing that any of them could do.... So, now she's back home in the Hoenn Region, with a ruined reputation and nowhere else to go than to be with her family, including her niece.
Kathy finished making up the bed before going to fold her clothes. "Honestly, something's been keeping me up at night, Auntie."
"So, when I saved Aunt Lauren and all of those people that were trapped, I noticed that, at least from what mom told me, one of them felt like a variant of Dinah."
"...? Dinah? Who's Dinah?"
"Uh... I'm not entirely sure, but some Pokémon or something that knows fate? At least from what mom told me."
"Yeah." Kathy continued folding. "Mom told me that, when Dinah takes an interest in someone, that she sometimes finds a way for fate to have them cross paths or something like that."
"Is that so?" A third individual was in the room with them, also helping with the clothes.
Kathy nodded. "Yeah. Even bringing her name up can sometimes draw that attention."
"Sounds dangerous, if you ask me." Wyvern sighed. "Though, you think this Dinah would care much about you just because you saved it?"
The individual spoke again. "Well, it could be possible. Dinah has taken interest in humans in the past."
Kathy shrugged. "Yeah exactly. It's possible. I just... don't want to make things more complicated than it already is, you know? Mom already has so much on her plate, and I've caused enough trouble as is."
Wyvern shrugged. "Honestly, at this point, I've started to make peace with the fact that we're just going to be surrounded by Legendary Pokémon and creatures of all types. As long as this Dinah creature doesn't cause any trouble, I think we'll be fine."
The individual spoke again. "Oh, don't worry. I'll make sure not to make things difficult for Heidi. After all, there's nothing wrong with meeting more of my nieces."
"...!?" Kathy looked up, to see who just spoke. "It—it's you!"
"Wh—who the hell are you!? And how did you get in here!?"
"Good day, humans. I am but one of the aspects of Dinah — and the very individual that you speak of. You may call this part of Dinah 'Jacqueline', or 'Aunt Jackie'. I don't mind either way."
"Y—You were one of the ones that were trapped when Celeste and I infiltrated that building! So, you ARE a part of Dinah."
Jacqueline giggled. "Ding ding ding. You are correct. My, how perceptive of you." She put some of the folded clothes away. "Then again, it would be quite rude to forget an Arceus that you had met."
"A—A—A—Arceus!?" Lady Wyvern bowed almost immediately. "W—We are so, so sorry. Please forgive us for summoning your presence into our humble home. We... we really do not mean any disrespect."
"... Auntie Wyvern. Please." She turned back to Jacqueline. " 'Aunt Jackie'. Wh—why are you here putting my stuff away?"
"To thank you, of course! The children in my world were so worried about me when I was taken in." Jacqueline patted Wyvern to signal her to get up. "You were so brave out there when saving your Aunt Lauren, your sister and the rest of us. Consider me in your debt."
"..." Kathy didn't know how to feel about the thought of an Arceus being indebted to her. "... I'm not going to get in any trouble for interacting with you, am I?"
"Oh, no. Dinah has already spoken with your mother about my visit. There is no need to worry yourself."
"..." Kathy looked at Wyvern.
Wyvern looked back at her niece. "Eh. Seems friendly enough. Why not?"
Kathy nodded and looked back at Jacqueline. "Well, I guess you can be our friend, Aunt Jackie, just as long as you don't cause any drama. Wanna continue helping me unpack? We'll be doing Auntie Wyvern's room next."
"I would love to, my dear nieces." Jacqueline giggled as she continued helping out in the room. Talk about an fateful encounter.
