So i got ahold of the game Hades and IT got ahold of me and I'm using that obsession to fuel my Muse AU

The story is basically the same except Sun and Moon are new Muses, with Y/N being their first Human they have to inspire

Eclipse is the head Muse and worries over Sun and Moon constantly (for good reason) and pops in often to see their progress

Sun is high strung and desperate to prove their worth as muses, while Moon is a bit too lax and content to continue being the court musician rather than dealing with mortals which makes it all the worse when things become an absolute mess

Here’s another AU I made that People really Liked!

Sun and Moon are muses (yes the kind from Greek Mythology) who were assigned to help inspire an up and coming young musician! The pair are excited to finally have work to do after so long, with modern technology and social media lessening the NEED for inspiration from Muses. The pair are quickly disappointed when they learn that the mortal they’re assigned to is Y/N , the drummer for a heavy metal garage band.

Y/N is a very skilled drummer, the kind that can go along with any song and play by ear! They’re great at what they do! But they’re constantly pushed aside by their band mates when they bring up the songs they’ve written!

After a very rough introduction, where Y/N cursed the gods, Y/N is given a limited amount of time to write a song to appease the gods, or be killed as punishment. Since Sun and Moon are the muses assigned to them, they’re forced to help or be stripped of their powers and cast out into the mortal realm. With a clock counting down to their demise, the three get to work and grow ever closer. Sun and Moon eventually realizing there’s a lot more to Y/N than they first thought.

Pls go look at Lily’s art and writing! She’s so talented and the biggest sweetheart!! She and @thewordofm helped me come up with a lot of stuff for this AU and they both deserve all the praise in the world!!! Please go show them and their beautiful brains some love too!

why did y/n curse the gods? did they think Sun & Moon were just guys playing a prank and mocked them/the gods? or were they insulted that the gods thought they needed help? what happened?

Aw man so actually this was thought up by @paper-lilypie and @thewordofm helping me brainstorm a lot

And basically the first meeting is to blame

Sun and Moon appear to find the mortal theyre supposed to inspire, only to suddenly appear in a dive bar mid concert

Y/N is in the middle of playing the set with their band and shock Sun and Moon by being able to see and understand them (which only their charge can do)

Sun and Moon are shocked (and horrified) that their charge is a drummer for a genre of music that sounds horrible to them (they consider heavy metal tasteless and just noise)

Y/N gets annoyed that these two weird looking guys are on stage ruining the gig only to look crazy by stopping mid song telling security to remove 2 people that arent there

Sun and Moon continue to harass Y/N the rest of the night, ruining the gig and making them look crazy in front of their bandmates (losing any remaining respect they had)

So when they claim to be muses there to help Y/N it makes perfect sense that Y/N finds it ridiculous and unbelievable and just gets so mad they tear into Sun and Moon. Cursing them and cursing the gods (which the gods did not take kindly to)

Y'know what, probably a dumb question but after the curve ball that was Cherub!Y/N's terminal illness you can't be too careful; does Muse!Y/N fail?

TAKING/SHOWING THE MUSE BOYS MUSICALS!!!! It’s not the same as it was, but the nostalgia is there. Phantom of the opera is definitely a hit, but I can see them getting into some newer releases like Ride the Cyclone and SpongeBob… Epic and Hadestown hit way to close to home.

I feel like Sun would enjoy the theatrics and acting but Moon would prefer the music!!

Wait, why are Sun and Moon still assigned to Y/N even after they cursed the gods? Doesn't that dramatically increase the chance of them actually succeeding which the gods presumably don't want (gods usually aren't very forgiving of uppity humans)? Heck, why are Sun and Moon even going to be punished if they fail? Do the other gods want to get rid of them? Do the gods think that Sun and Moon screwed things up for Y/N and need to make it up to them? Or would failure prove they suck at their jobs?

Sun and Moon are still assigned to Y/N because Y/N was lacking inspiration in the first place. Making them write a song befitting of the gods when they couldn't write songs regularly is DOOMED to fail. Otherwise whats the point of even giving them a chance? Plus,it is also partially Sun and Moon's fault after all since They got Y/N so mad in the first place.

But also the need for muses has been waning as technology only becomes more and more advanced so it wouldn't be too bad to banish a couple of shoddy muses to the mortal realm for a while. It's a chance for them to prove their worth and for the gods to feel somewhat feared and appreciated again

Will there be romantic relations in the muse AU? I'm just curious, it sounds amazing and fun either way!!!

As a kind of rule of thumb EVERY AU i make with Sun/Moon/Y/N is romantic unless explicitly stated otherwise (you're more than welcome to imagine it as platonic if you prefer feel free to take my AUs and run with them in your own way)

Like. I love and appreciate the folks who write platonic AUs. They're SO good

But me??? Nah I'm here to SMOOCH those boys and My AUs are here to reflect that ajdbajd

So yes VERY much romantic relations. The entire AU is a slowburn love story
