Is a born and bred New York City witch, raised to live and die by the coven. Her family is one of the oldest bloodlines of the community, up there with the Rockwells and Valentines and as such, she grew up in a life of privilege and wealth.
Met Felicity Wildes, a witch from a less affluent family, when she was eight years old. The two girls became fast friends, becoming practically inseparable and establishing a bond that never once wavered. As they got older, she would consider Fel to be her platonic soulmate and the only family she needed.
When her powers came in, she discovered she was a chloromancer which gave her the power over plants. She was frustrated at first since she lived in an urban environment, central park becoming one of her favorite places to go so she can feel connected to her magic.
As she came into her teens, she started to see things about her family that she didn’t agree with. Their biases regarding supernatural species and how they viewed certain magics causing numerous fights between her and her parents. One fight resulted in her parents kicking her out when she was sixteen, leading to her living with Felicity’s family for a couple months.
Aside from Felicity, she was closest to her boyfriend, Aspen Valentine, who she was completely and utterly in love with through her late teens and early twenties.
She eventually met Giulia Wu through Felicity, taking their dynamic duo and turning it into a trio in a way. However, her and Giulia didn’t do much together without their shared best friend who was the glue that held them together.
At some point in time, she also met the necromancer Maddox Chase, whom she would warmly welcome to the city and eventually the coven, the two slowly becoming unlikely friends.
When she turned eighteen and was no longer legally bound to her parents, whom she was still butting heads with on a regular basis, she decided to leave behind her cushy life so that she could build one that would actually be proud of. She moved in with Felicity and Giulia and the three started to make plans to open an apothecary.
Despite walking away from her family, she continued to be as involved in the coven as possible, becoming a prominent member who never hesitated to take it upon herself to do what needed to be done.
In a blindsiding turn of events, Ariel would be devastated when her long-term boyfriend cheated on her, which resulted her breaking up with Aspen. After this, she became a little more guarded emotionally as she tried to deal with a newly fractured self-image.
Ariel would eventually move on, finding herself again but still being hesitant to give someone else the power to make her vulnerable. She eventually started see the faction-less Loki Asbjørn on the down low, a fact only know but a couple people. But that too would abruptly end when Ariel was faced her worst nightmare.
Felicity, who was secretly addicted to V, died suddenly and was found by Ariel and Giulia. Everything changed after this. Ariel spent a period time completely withdrawn from everyone, pushing away Loki and shutting down emotionally. She projected her own guilt and anger onto Fel’s boyfriend, Eli Rockwell, who had been using alongside his girlfriend.
Ariel and Giulia, in the wake of the tragedy, started to bond like never before. Their differences now gluing them together in the absence of their third musketeer. They would go on to open up an apothecary named after their late friend. Giulia’s father supported both the girls through this time in their lives while Ariel’s parents never reached out and didn’t even show up to the funeral.
Life went on but Ariel was now changed. She had become obsessed having absolute control over her emotions, refusing to ever let her vulnerability slip. If she did slip, it would only be in front of the only two friends she had left that she trusted absolutely. She instead starting focusing more and more on being what other people might need.

Risky Business - Upon discovering the bodies of five missing supernatural with Ivar Nygaard, Ariel made a deal with the vampire. She has been assisting on researching the rares, specifically the incubus. She is currently under Ivar’s protection, having even fed from him so he will know when/if she is danger after almost dying from a possession and narrowly being saved by Maddox Chase. The closer she gets to figuring out what makes the incubus so special, the more danger she is putting herself in.

Keeps a small garden on Rune Asbjørn’s land since she lives in a condo in the inter city without a space to grow plants, in return she will often speed up the growth of plants he needs for rituals.
Used to smoke but started to quit because Felicity always wanted her to. Sometimes when she’s stressed, she’ll smoke an herbal cigarette of her own creation.
Despite her extremely social nature, she only really has two friends that she trusts unconditionally and still does not talk to her family.
Visits Felicity’s grave once a month and grows flowers out of it every time to form a floral shrine.
Has a mild obsession with poisons, despite never actually using one on someone, and could make several based on memory alone.
She loves using her abilities to make magical teas for soothing various afflictions and they are one of her top sellers at the apothecary.
— Connections
Giulia Wu - Her absolute best friend in the world. They can be so different but love each other unconditionally and support each other the same. Giulia’s father has even become a sort of father figure for Ariel. It’s rare for her to feel one hundred percent comfortable in being herself but she has that with Lia and she would hope that she offers the exact same in return.
Maddox Chase - While she likes to say that she annoyed him into being her friend, the truth is that the necromancer is one of her dearest friends and only people she knows she can trust. Though they seem like total opposites, they both have a way of seeing through each other’s guard and supporting each other in a way that feels natural and comfortable.
Aspen Valentine - They were together for years and she fully believed that he was her future. Knowing that someone she trusted and loved as much as she did him could hurt so easily left a mark on her. Despite this and against her better judgement for letting him close to her again, she finds it difficult to not want to be there for him as he adjusts to his transition into being a vampire.
Loki Asbjørn - Being the wild trickster he is, being with Loki was like flirting with the wild side, something Ariel was not always used to. She did care deeply for the warlock but found herself wondering when the blow would come, never really knowing if he was as invested in what they had as she was.
Sage Rockwell - Ariel isn’t entirely sure where she stand when it comes to the latest leader of the coven. She believes that Sage wants to protect the coven but finds herself feeling at odds with the other witch’s apathy at times. As someone used to always having an opinion, it is an uncomfortable feeling to not know how she feels about Sage.
