rose hip and its thorns

here’s a sneak peek babies! spoooopy time 

pairing: reader x taehyung

genre: witch!reader and vampire!taehyung 

summary: the solemn privacy that the witch dwelled in has been disrupted by a certain past that has decided to leave another path of thorns once again. 

"You're awake," she hums against the crackling fire that she set ablaze minutes before her sudden encounter with the injured doe using a spell that she learned as a novice. Raising her head from her previous swinging of the emerald orb attached to a black string like a pendulum, her gaze flickers over to the couch that laid the familiar doe— in which she was kind enough to wrap the stranger in blankets to keep him from dying from the bitter cold.

Awake and alert, he still does not know and is perfectly unaware to the surroundings that have at first enticed him by the nostalgic art pieces and symbols hat occupied the walls, but it was until he noticed the stone fireplace that he realized that he had been there before. With that look on his face of revelation compared to hers, it is known that she knows this.

Taehyung hastily sits up, only to be hit with a painful sting in response, resulting to a hiss eliciting from his lips at the pain, lying back down onto the leather sofa. He watches her tentatively, her every move and every motion as she pours a pot of steaming water into a porcelain cup filled with unknown herbs with familiar scents.

She brings the cup over to him, her eyes filled with certainty when their eyes met in that millisecond of time. "Drink."

"What is it?" Taehyung asks, but doesn't hesitate to bring his lips over to the rim to take a gulp, only to detach himself from it, his facials creating a sour look due to the taste on his tongue.

"Rose hip."

Taehyung swears she sees a ghost of a smile paint along her features before she strolls off towards her cabinet that held jars and bottles and endless containers of herbs and spices of all sorts. She puts away the jar of only a pinch left of rose hip back into its designated spot on the shelf before she sits back onto the chair next to the fire.

He is not sure if her minute smile was due to her remembering that he had always obtained a hatred for the taste of rose hip, or it was just the face he made after tasting it, but Taehyung lets the thought linger for a bit as he continues to dread every sip he took.
