@muses-of-kira asked: Riza's hearing VS a normal person due to gun use
There's a reason why Riza loves quiet. It's because their hearing is not as good as a normal person's due to frequent gun usage from a young age.
Granted, they use ear protection whenever possible, and this was true when they still lived on the estate, but their hearing is still a little below average. Guns do a lot of damage to a person's hearing, and they don't always have the choice to wear ear protection in the field. This was especially true in Ishval where Riza primarily used sniper rifles, which are louder than their typical side-arm.
The above is from Riza's time in Ishval, and no ear protection can be found. Look at the weapon they're using as well. It is not a small rifle. They couldn't wear ear protection because they were in the field, and they needed to hear their surroundings (enemy movement/fire, for example). Ear damage was likely common throughout the war because of this, and it's one reason Riza learned ASL.
Now, while Riza's hearing may be below the average human's, they are still incredibly observant. They tap into their senses more than most, and they make the most out of the hearing they do have. In essence, this is their hypervigilance at work, and it is incredibly difficult for them to get out of that mode. They don't know any other way to exist.
@muses-of-kira
Kira,
It's been almost two years since we met, and yet it feels like you've been part of my life for even longer. That is how integral I consider our friendship to my life. What started as short interactions between two muses, two people who didn't know each other, became so much more---writing an arc that is the equivalent of a novel together. I still regularly go back and read it just for the hell of it.
Our writing isn't all there is to our friendship, though. You've shared much more with me over the course of time like passion for music, art, cosplay, video games, and more. Some of my most listened to artists and tracks on Spotify are directly influenced by you (Citizen Soldier, anyone?).Your art is incredible, and it continues to amaze me with every single piece that you do---like how you can just bring these beloved characters to life while making them yours. The love and dedication you put into your cosplay, and just seeing you thrive, has me itching to get my guitar out again and play, something I haven't done in years.
Thank you for that. I've missed wanting to play.
Getting to know you as a person has been a privilege. I'll always feel honored that you chose to have me in your life, and that you continue to do so. I'm glad I can be there for you not just during the good times, but during the not-so-good times and the "meh" times. I'm not here just when you're happy or you're doing well. I'm here for the long haul because I want to be. I choose to be here. No one's making me. Likewise, I want to have you in my life too during the good, the bad, and the meh. Your presence means the world to me, and, whether or not you know it, you've helped ease a lot of my burdens over the last several months. You did that just by being there.
Thank you for that. Seriously. I can't thank you enough.
I'll always hope that every day is a good one for you. On this one in particular, though, I want to celebrate you and how awesome you are. This was the day you entered the world, so it deserves some recognition. I truly hope you have an amazing day today. I love you so very much, and I want the world to see just how awesome you are. ❤
Happy Birthday, Kira!
Love, always,
Kai
@muses-of-kira / @alchemic-elric finished this today, and I’m just... I’m so floored, okay. Look at those details like the tie clip and the cufflinks. Also, that shade of red is like... one of my favorite colors period. He’s even got his hair slicked back.
Kira turned my one comment in discord into beautiful art, and I can’t stop looking at it. Thank you x infinity, Kira. Seriously.
And of course, Roy’s in my head just “Damn I look good” like the smug fucker he is.
This is all I’m gonna be thinking about for a while now.

This is what played in my head when I saw this, okay. Let me be a meme.
SIX MORE THINGS. WHY YOU GOTTA.
1. My organization skills are top notch whether it be just on my computer or with physical things.
2. I can memorize lyrics to a song rather quickly. Like, that Citizen Soldier song you linked earlier? Yeah, I’ve got almost half of it memorized by now.
3. Same thing applies to scripts for plays. I love theater, and I did it a lot in high school and college. Memorizing my lines was pretty easy for me.
4. I’ve got strong calves that are pretty dang toned.
5. The name I currently use, Kai, is one I picked out myself, and I’m so happy with it.
6. I can dance! Not professionally, but I know how to time my body to music.
@muses-of-kira asked: 10. Tag one person you’d normally be too afraid to talk to. Say hi!

I see @hariolor on my dash all the time, and my brain is just, “Go. Say. HI!” I love how Jovis writes Lust, and I also admire their OC Eve. Their writing is just wonderful!
HI JOVIS. YOU’RE AMAZING!
