Monkey distinctly remembers having fallen asleep on the cold, hard, peeling floor tucked away in one of the corners of one of the many abandoned buildings commonly found, well, pretty much everywhere. Sheltered by the four walls from poor weather and prying, machinal eyes alike— or the rarer set of organic ones. So, when he suddenly awakens not long after drifting off, finding himself outside and staring up toward a much brighter, kinder blue sky, an immediate sense of panic rather than relief sets in.
Rolling to one side, the sizable man climbs swiftly to his feet; the telescopic staff, usually stored in the back of his right glove, is extended with a flick of the wrist and gripped in his hand in the same movement. Turning one way and then the other, a frenzied display to find any possible culprit, Monkey can’t help but think that the unexpected change in scenery is unsettlingly beautiful— surrounded by verdant undergrowth and a stone’s throw from an expansive, clearwater lake.
At first glance, it doesn’t look too different from places he’s been before; only this time, something feels noticeably off.

steven pressed a hand to the top of his pink lion’s head, letting out a loud sigh as he did so. it had been his own fault, really.. but he felt for the patrons and the store owner, having to deal with an over-excitable giant cat prowling through the aisles. lion flopped to the ground.. rather dramatically, in steven’s opinion, and he shook his head slightly, turning to look at whoever had been inside.
“i’m sorry about him -- he’s really harmless, i promise!”

Strange things were not unheard of in the jungle. But the odd appearance of an unusual spiral doorway had warranted further investigation. The jungle animals have never seen nor witnessed a portal before, so when Bagheera passed through and found himself in strange new surroundings on the other side, he was very surprised indeed. The panther glanced around, eyes wide in confusion. He hoped to spot someone, anyone, who might provide some explanation of where he was or how to get home. “Hello?” He called out with caution. “Is there anyone here?”
Selena sighed, briefly resting her head on her cousin's shoulder, needing the comfort. "Thank you," she told her. Gently lifting her head off of the red head, she looked over at Dolores, watching the computer in front of her to see what had come up.
Skeletons? Skeletons...hmm...
Her eyes widened, and she remembered something. "Barbara!" she said, "I heard a strange sound last night, like bones!"
Her face grew whiter than normal as she viewed the camera footage, and before Dolores even made any adjustments, the Princess had a bad feeling, and she was already putting it together in her head, and the enhanced footage only confirmed her suspicions.
"Estelia!" She cried, somewhat breathily.
"I hope she's alright, I mean, she's been in a sack, but.."
