This Mushroom Marinara Pasta is a flavorful and comforting dish that combines tender mushrooms with a rich marinara sauce. It's quick and easy to make, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients: 8 oz. pasta of your choice. 2 tbsp olive oil. 1 onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced. 1 can 14 oz. crushed tomatoes. 1 tsp dried oregano. 1 tsp dried basil. Salt and pepper to taste. Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish. Fresh basil leaves for garnish.
Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to cook the pasta until it is al dente. Remove the water and set it aside. Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-low heat. Cut up the onion and garlic and add them to the pan. Saut for about two to three minutes, until the food smells good and turns clear. Slice the mushrooms and add them to the pan. It will take about 5 to 7 minutes of cooking until they give off their water and get soft. Add the dried oregano, basil, and crushed tomatoes and mix them in. Add pepper and salt to taste. Let the flavors blend by simmering the sauce for 10 to 15 minutes. Toss the cooked pasta around in the pan to coat it with the sauce after adding it. Place the pasta on plates to serve. Put fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese on top. Enjoy while hot!
