Sometimes people are too poor to buy a ticket, or they don't live in an area with theaters or performances, or they cant leave their house due to a disability. They deserve to watch productions too.
Also, as a performer, bootlegs actually really help me with learning lines. For example my partner and I are learning lines for a local Heathers production we were cast in, and bootlegs have been an absolute lifesaver for learning timing and also getting tips like onstage changes, how to improvise when you're a little off-beat, and also learning choreography beforehand to make it easier on us.
Do whatever you want. Making bootlegs is punk and anti-capitalist. Keep doing it. Theater performances aren't supposed to be gatekept. It's art and art cannot and should not have a price tag for viewing.
