I started drawing this before I started fleshing out the lore in my head so I lowkey wish I had given Haymitch an axe instead of a sword but I was too lazy to change it.

Also I love all of these except I lowkey dislike one of them but I will not disclose which one.

His eyesight never fully recovered, but he can still see perfectly well enough to fly and shoot like a pro (and it’s a little scary, like dude you need corrective lenses to read a datapad that’s right in front of you but you hit that one-in-a-million shot most professional snipers would struggle to hit with a sidearm?)

Han was very against it at first but Leia’s stylist actually takes Han’s style preferences and fit of other clothes he wears regularly into consideration when designing things for him…so he’s less against it now. He still complains tho

If you had told me I would be drawing characters played by Markiplier and Ryan Gosling kissing because my friend said “make them kiss” and that’s all the convincing it took I never would’ve believed you…actually I probably would’ve bc I know the internet but I would be pretty surprised.

Uploaded the latest chapter in my fic which is one of my favourites and I was thinking about this specific part for WAYYY two long so I drew it.

“The Caged Light”: my Sunrise on the Reaping faux stained glass piece.

It is filled with references to the book as well as Haymitch’s past, present and future. It took me SO LONG and the light was hitting it so perfectly today I retook all the photos I had taken originally because it was just glowing.

REFERENCES IN THE PIECE (spoilers for my friends who haven’t finished the book yet)

- the red gumdrops

- flames representing Haymitch, who I call the Fire Starter, as well as…house fire…

- sunflowers for the tokens

- the birdcage

- Haymitch’s “seat” is a candlestick holder (he’s the Fire Starter, the necessary start to the forest fire that is the rebellion and what encouraged Katniss and Peeta and lead them when they were in the dark about things)

- feathers which hint at the importance of symbolism of The Mockingjay in the future as well as Haymitch’s role in relation…also flamingos

- Haymitch’s colour palette is warm tones whereas the Capitol citizens are in cool tones

THE POSTERS

I’m going to be customizing my copy of “Sunrise on the Reaping” very soon and part of that customization will include these “posters” which I will draw at the beginning of each part in the book.

I stuck to the “book version” of things and drew the outfits how I pictured them (minus the tie for Haymitch cause I like the no tie look in the trailer and I like combining elements) I did draw more than one version of “The Birthday” and am curious as to which you all like more (even though I already know which one I’m gonna put in my book)

Ever since the first time I read the Heir to the Empire trilogy I pictured someone specific as Talon Karrde…which is unusual for me considering I don’t even picture the main cast exactly like their actors.

But for some reason, the idea of one, specific person came to mind and stuck around.

AND ITS JACKSEPTICEYE.

I can’t explain it, idk why it’s him I picture (maybe it’s cause I wanted Talon to have an Irish accent, idk) but I feel it is an inspired casting.

I REST MY CASE.

(I did do a version with the long hair but I liked the mullet better for the final piece)

In partnership with my friend’s and my’s not-for-profit theatre company we started this past year I designed PJO cabin medallions themed after each canon cabin symbol and Greek mythology!
