Me: takes 3 hours going through the playlist to find that one song that fits the scene perfectly
✍️ Writing Prompt:
The cabin stood on the top of the mountain, its dark, imposing form silhouetted against the night sky. It was said to be cursed, haunted by the spirits of those who had met their end within its walls. Despite the rumors, a group of friends had decided to spend a weekend at the cabin, seeking adventure and thrills. But as they approached the cabin, a sense of unease settled over them, as if the very air around them was thick with foreboding. The door creaked as they pushed it open, and a musty smell greeted them, along with the sound of something shuffling in the shadows. The friends looked at each other, nerves on edge, wondering what lay in store for them within the walls of the dark, ominous cabin in the mountains.

👋🏻Hello!
A Short Story Soundtrack Project is a music composition challenge I've created to challenge myself as a composer.
The idea is to read a short story and compose a soundtrack based on that story.
The deadline is to finish the soundtrack in 1 week and the rules are:
Use a free DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)
Only use 6 instruments available on the DAW
No External Plugins
I've chosen "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell.
📖 About the story // from Wikipedia //
"The Most Dangerous Game", also published as "The Hounds of Zaroff", is a short story by Richard Connell, first published in Collier's on January 19, 1924. The story features a big-game hunter from New York City who falls off a yacht and swims to what seems to be an abandoned and isolated island in the Caribbean, where he is hunted by a Russian aristocrat.
The story is inspired by the big-game hunting safaris in Africa and South America that were particularly fashionable among wealthy Americans in the 1920s. The story has been adapted numerous times, most notably as the 1932 RKO Pictures film The Most Dangerous Game, starring Joel McCrea and Leslie Banks, and for a 1943 episode of the CBS Radio series Suspense, starring Orson Welles.
It has been called the "most popular short story ever written in English." Upon its publication, it won the O. Henry Award. "The Most Dangerous Game" is one of many works that entered the public domain in the United States in 2020.
