Where to begin… Saw @phantomopera on Broadway for what is probably the final time, unless a miracle happens and I somehow end up with a ticket for the final public performance or even more miraculously at the invited final. This show is complicated, and I’ve broken up with it over and over again through the years… but this show is WHY I became a singer. And while I’m mostly really okay with the closure, it does feel like losing an old friend who’ve you’ve SEEN some shit with. I’m sad for the cast, crew and orchestra; I’m REALLY sad this is the last fully orchestrated version we’ll ever see; I’m sad that the work of the OG creative team (Prince, Bjornson, Lynne) will vanish once the curtain closes for the final time. I’m sad I never got to be in this iteration of the show, never got to show that Christine (and all leading ladies) could be plus size and beautiful and desirable. I’m sad for the youngsters that won’t have Phantom as their lightning bolt moment. All shows close, it’s still sad. What a run though, we couldn’t have asked for more as an audience and a theatre community. #sopranowatches #phantomoftheopera #broadway #musicofthenight #singerstyle🎶🎶🎶 #whataride #bittersweet (at The Phantom of the Opera) https://www.instagram.com/p/Co_khq9uePd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
