Pre Maude she would have balked at the mention of a party no matter who was hosting it ; the countless stares directed her way and awkward small talk enough to make Lily want to pull an Irish Goodbye and get out. But with Maude it was different, she was different. There was no worrying or anxious fretting, not with her girlfriend by her side supporting her. "Do you really think this dress is okay? I know it's black and it's spring so . . . is it too gloomy?" With their uber scheduled to arrive in five minutes Lily frowned, arms out at her sides and nose wrinkling in doubt. It was a simple dress, tight with spaghetti thin straps, a moderate dip in the neckline combined with a frayed hemline. hopefully plain enough to blend in to the background.
