The awful thing is that both Tali and Miranda were supposed to be romanceable by femshep, but the voice actors didn’t like it, and I hate the malegaze design aspect to the asari, because they’re so fascinating in other ways.
I'm gonna cry though. :( whyyyy I mean the comfort of voice actors is important but also...femshep romances with women...
yeah no the asari could be really interesting and there are really interesting things about them so it is just sad to me that they're so male gaze-y and "this is an entirely female society designed by heterosexual men" feeling, sighs
if I were artistic in any way I would totally think about asari redesign, but I am not that, alas.
musingsofspring replied to your post “okay guys it’s official: i have a mass effect problem”
Where are you in the ME series, and who are you romancing?
I am still playing my way through Mass Effect 2 (wandering throught the galaxy doing side quests and loyalty missions heyo!!! should probably get on that "saving the galaxy thing" but you know)
and since I couldn't figure out romance mods and therefore apparently cannot romance either Tali or Miranda who were my first choices I am probably going to land myself with Garrus because trainwreck aliens
seriously I'm still laughing about how all my former companions moved up in the world and became at least moderately successful and Garrus...trainwrecked. poor bb.
(seriously though my main criticism of the Mass Effect games at this point (other than the fact that some things about the asari are kinda Weird which I attribute to male gaze-y designing things) is that there isn't nearly enough bi/pansexuality.)
musingsofspring replied to your post: So I went to Mass today at St. P...
May I ask why you went if you weren’t feeling the religious thing?
Partly curiosity (what DOES a Catholic service sound like in British?), partly because I feel guilty about not being religious, partly to make my parents happy, and partly to get out of the house since most things are closed on Easter.

Is sitting around being nerdy garbage seductive? Because that's all I'm good at
My first [fictional character] crush was Lord Asriel.
Good. Good. Good.
I endorse this far more than I should.
(Now picture him as Idris Elba. Yeah. Keep picturing it. I'm helping.)

Any chance you'll be liveblogging mass effect?
based on the way my bioware experience has gone so far, I'm not sure you could stop me if you wanted to. XD
