As human beings, we end up worshiping, at one point or another; materials, people or just our desires but we still don’t never feel fully content. But when we worship the one who created us, this void in us gets filled and we receive nothing but goodness in our lives. This makes me think about the idols that were worshipped during the time of our prophet (saw); Allah (swt) references them many times in the Quran with how lifeless they are and how they truly have nothing to offer. If we are gonna worship something, we need to do it to the one who deserves it. Jannah is a motivation but Allah’s mercy is the goal. This is a reflection on understanding why we worship Allah (swt).
