We grew up quietly.
When Sundays stopped feeling like Sundays.
When four hours of sleep suddenly felt like enough.
When life slipped silently from the classrooms of school to the corridors of university.
When pain could no longer be shaped into words.
When crying over a spilled coffee in front of everyone felt impossible.
This was the adulthood we once begged for freedom, independence & becoming someone.
Yet no one told us it would feel this heavy,
this lonely,
this unfinished.
Maybe we never truly wanted to grow up at all.
We just wanted the world to stay kind,
just a little longer.
