I really need to stop getting excited every time I come across a book with some kind of Muslim Rep.
Like it's clearly not going to be the utter perfection that is/was Alizayd. I still kinda wish I'd get more stories centering practicing Muslims but it literally never is... That makes me sad and a little angry.
Not that I want non-muslims doing the most tryna write Islamic practices for diversity/inclusivity points... God knows I suffer enough reading white womens "portrayal of POC"
I'm fine with nonpracticing Islam rep if that's what it takes to be respectful but... *Sigh* a girl can dream. 😩😩
