This was our second Wear-A-Hijab Day at Marymount University and the first day back to campus from spring break. Alhumdulillah it was an even better turnout than last year. We had 50+ girls volunteering to wear the hijab for one whole day. This was for both non-Muslims and for Muslims whom do not wear the hijab. These ladies looked absolutely beautiful in the hijabs that they picked out themselves! At the end of the day, some of the participants came to our High Tea Party (for ladies only) to discuss their experience, thoughts, feelings and input on the whole experience. Most of the ladies said that they would love to do this again if given the oppurtunity. Another favorite quote of ours during the Tea Party was "I felt busy and hectic the whole day--my day was crazy up until I wore the hijab and I felt oddly very calm and serene afterwards". We would like to thank all of our participants and our officers/volunteers that helped make this event successful. We broke this blog post into parts to share most pictures from Wear-A-Hijab Day.
