Field Notes

My recent field illustrations of deer-like organisms spotted at dusk in the northwestern region of the Earnest S. Caterwaul Heritage Preserve.

I enjoy walking through the woods to clear my head. On this particular evening I caught sight of two beautiful specimens that I simply had to document. Despite their unusual appearances, they did not seem to be hindered in movement or behavior. As I watched in silence, they grazed in a field, then, noticing my presence, bounded away into the trees. I wonder what could have made them this way.

I did some digging.

Gloaming's white-tailed deer population fell to un-documentable levels in the 1980s. It has not risen since. So what exactly are these?

I may need an expert's opinion.

For those of you that follow me, I owe an explanation.

Putting this under a read more because I don't exactly know how long this will be. And trigger warnings for suicide attempts and death.

I have a special gift.

This gift allows me to see certain individuals with varying degrees of clarity.

And tonight, I learned something about my gift.

If someone I can see with this gift dies in any way, shape, or form, I can feel it.

For example: Tonight, a friend of mine fondly named Switchblade attempted suicide tonight and died at the hospital. In the minute or two before his death, I felt the cuts he had inflicted on himself. My heart burned as his slowly came to a stop.

This gift also allows me to see things that otherwise would not be visible.

For Example: Another friend of mine, Haldol, summoned a Watcher, a being that can go where ever you want it to and find out what you would like to know. Watchers can only be seen by the one that summons them. Thanks to my gift, I am able to see, to some degree, Haldol's Watcher.

I do not know why I have this gift or who(or what) gave it to me.

But I intend to use it to help my friends as best I can.
