A WIP of a piece I started working on. It is Fingolfin and his hosts crossing the Helcaraxë. The outline is made out of nails, glued down one at a time. The space in between is going to be filled with paper flowers. Mixed among the flowers will be some snapdragon seed pods. Why? Well, they certainly look familiar don't they?
WIP of Feanor and Filgolfin, putting an end to the Great Enemy. Based on @antlered-vixen's absolutely phenomenal Feanor/Fingolfin fic "Light Splintered and Sewn". That latest chapter had me ugly crying and I wanted to share even before I fully finished the piece!
Two of my most beloved friends shall soon be married and asked me to paint some figurines for their centerpieces. It might not seem it, but there are 6 different kinds of bronze that went into giving them a sense of weight!

Is Fëanor actually speaking ill of Fingolfin? Of course not! Finarfin would not engage in such juvenile behavior. The conversation is innocent, wholesome even, a mere jest or anecdote... (...but Stars above, doesn't it feel good to have Fëanor's attention, all of it, all on him, even if for just a little bit?) Fingolfin, of course, knows better than anyone when Fëanor is trying to get under his skin. Unfortunately, 'knowing better' does not confer immunity to annoyance... (... or anger... or spite ... or... envy...?) I plan to continue this with future art (or maybe even a fic, if I am particularly brave)! I hadn't considered this pairing until taking on this prompt for the Fest, but I'm very glad I did! Pairing: Fëanor/Finarfin or Fëanor/Fingolfin/Finarfin Warnings: Incest Prompt: Fëanor who decides that a great way to get under Fingolfin's skin would be to show Finarfin favoritism (some kind of fucked up "it's not because you're my half-brother that I hate you it's because you're you") & then he ends up actually liking Finarfin and they end up sleeping together and then maybe Finarfin finds out about why Fëanor even started paying attention to him to begin with and reacts badly (or he already knew and is just kind of like meh about it up to you!) Super fine if this ends up spiraling into a Fëanor/Fingolfin/Finarfin ship instead!
Finally got the fabric down! Just need to do the final processing phase before adding the head, but I think I'll let the brocade rest for a day or two see where there might be some lifting.
Fun fact... Brocade will chew up your scissors. Get microserrated snippers for brocade!
