Hello today is some sort of #NationalMuttDay so I obviously have to tell you all about my amazing mutts. Max is a 2nd generational hand me down mutt. Bred from a bully of a dad and an absent mother. Husky/Malamute combined forces for a snow loving creature. Maeby is a possible 3rd generation cast off. Puppy in the shelter. Freak in the streets. Given up because of her wandering ways. They've captured my heart and I've seemed to capture theirs. We work through our issues all the time with love & patience. Them more so with me. But hear me now. Don't feel pressured to rescue a mutt. They are a lot of work and often come with hefty vet price tags. They are a choice. If you do please allow them time to integrate into your family & environment. Follow the Rules of 3s. It will typically take 3 months for a dog to feel comfortable in your home. My heart is so full because of M&M though. Loki went to the vet today for what I thought was allergies. He's been retching like someone trying to get mucus out of his throat for a bit now. He's started actually throwing up from it recently, hence the vet visit. . Unfortunately, it's not allergies; it's his heart. His heart is grossly enlarged and putting pressure on his lungs. He's coughing because he can't breathe properly. 8/14/17@muddypawsrescuenyc Gracie & Georgie are two lovable beans from a family of eleven puppies, and they had a bit of a ruff start to life. At one week old, they were brought to a shelter in Alabama after their mama was hit by a car and, sadly, didn’t make it. When they arrived at the shelter, these pups were starving and desperately needed to be bottle-fed. Thanks to a network of wonderful fosters, these puppies were fed around the clock and were able to keep their lil bellies filled. A few weeks later, they are finally healthy enough to be given a second chance to travel to the greatest city in the world and find a happy ending with their new pawrents.

Please reach out if you are interested. #Repost @woofpacktraining (@get_repost) ・・・ FREE VETERAN TRAINING CLASSES!! Spots available for rescue pups! Woof Pack Training will be offering our 7th session of our Free Veteran Training Class! This class is open to all US military veterans and their pups (DD 214 required). The class with cover basic obedience and leash skills. We will be using the Canine Good Citizen test as our practice model/goal. At the end of the 6 classes, I will be offering the test to selected pups that have met the criteria! Previous attendees are welcome to register as well (I will have you practice more advanced skills simultaneously). As space allows, I am offering fosters and adopters from @getabull, @kimberlywis_ and @pitbullsandjams to participate! To anyone who has already adopted from these rescues and would like to participate in the class, I am asking that, at class, you either donate a new "board book" or make a donation for a board book purchase. After my daughter was born (this past December), she had a brief stay in the NICU, which was a very emotional experience. All books that are collected from class will be donated to the Stony Brook NICU for parents and family members to read to their NICU babies. See below for some of our favorite books.
