Yeah, MJ has long struck me as an unwanted, off-putting and often clueless corporate chaperone.

Can anyone remind me if he had such a looming presence in the BTS/after-show specials for Talamasca and Mayfair? I did watch them but quite frankly Talamasca was forgettable and I think I blanked out Mayfair...

anyone?

neither show is as big as this one, but I feel like I saw an awful lot of him in Talamasca marketing/promos.

Oh if it's popular and making money, they'll take it as far as they can

Just look at TWD. They've run that property into the ground and then some with all of the adaptions and spin offs and seasons. But as of two years ago, 7/10 of their current most popular properties were either legacy programing (as in old and not airing new like Breaking Bad and Mad Men) or TWD spinoffs.

There WILL continue to be shows in this universe, likely until the end of AMC, but real question is whether it's the CURRENT shows or new shows like Night Island or one featuring OCs in the same universe like the Talamasca.

Just look at how hard they're trying to make Mayfair a success in the same way as our show.

I’m shocked MW has the following it does. But let’s be clear—those of us who enjoy witch shows will enjoy them regardless. I suspect a lot of the people who watch that show don’t watch IWTVL and I’m gonna tell you right now. I had a friend of mine watch IWTV and she said she can’t even believe it’s the same universe and she’s like so much more interested in my WDL now so I think they have almost a completely different audience.

I think people are just a little bit edgy because Talamasca was just literally canceled, and it literally did better in ratings than this show. It may not have the hype, it may not have been that much talked about on the Internet.. But it did better in the ratings with actual people watching

MW is doing ok, it’s just a different audience.

Personally, I think the real reason why they decided to cancel Talamasca isn’t really about ratings per se. It’s more about whether or not they thought the thread was viable to continue. It took way too long to care about the characters and most people are only interested in Jasper at this point.

I think AMC knows that people are super invested in Lestat as a character. He’s literally the anchor of the entire Immortal Universe and they wanna make their money back. I think they’re putting their energy into TVL & Night Island. I’m not worried. We gotta have a good mindset and be dead serious about watching the show and encouraging other people to. 🤞🤞🤞

As far as Netflix viewings it did better than both shows 🙄🤔

I’ve heard this, but what is this measuring? Is this worldwide or only UK/Canada?

And why are we measuring a show that’s been out four years with a show that’s been out less than one year? That’s not a real true comparison, it’s apples and oranges.

Was confusing is the Mayfair witches actually did less ratings than Tallamasca. I would not be surprised if that was the next to go

I can't say I'm happy it's cancelled - I'm not. But it wasn't good and I had a hope for some improvements in S2

I think you’re 100% right it did get good at the end and it was like they finally had momentum and I was actually hoping that the next season would be better.

Maybe, but the seance does happen with Lestat and Louis for Claudia ...it was on the storyboards behind the scenes in one of the videos

That wasn’t Lestat’s fledgling. That character showed up in an episode of Mayfair Witches and shared his story there. Lestat just adopted him for a little while.
