To get away from the (rather depressing) "Who do you think will die in the finale?" talk, do you have any thoughts on Marvel Studios taking control of the television side? From one fan to another, do you think that we will see any changes in how Marvel could (or should) promote Season Seven next year?
Yes, that discussion is just no fun.
To be honest I haven’t paid much attention with what is going on with the whole shifting over at Marvel.
As it’s AOS’s last season and still on ABC I honestly don’t think we are going to see any difference in how Season 7 will be marketed. My feel is its going to be the shows that are new and on Disney Plus that are going to get the benefit of that shift. I suspect Disney plus is the culprit for this move as they have so many shows in the works that are going to be connected to the MCU now that it does make sense to keep closer tabs on what everyone is up too.
Marvel typically left AOS alone unless they went for one of those minor tie ins (after season 1) or to tell them if a character or story arc was off limits.
I’m also expecting for the Season 7 Promotion to be very similar to Season 6′s...though I hope they have some more Social Media Stuff to make up that we haven’t gotten any BTS content for nearly a year by the time they air.
My family is personally gambling big on AOS being at Wondercon, and no I don’t need asks telling me why they won’t be there. We are pulling the trigger on air as soon as these bonus air miles get into our account. We figure if AOS isn’t there we’re still going to have a great time, there is a good chance some Disney Plus stuff is there, Disneyland, I am going to have to pull off at least 9 cosplays for them but if we get one iota of the pixie dust we had last year its going to be totally worth it, and get to meet up with other Tumblrs (as we get closer I’ll start getting headcounts and coordinating with others so we can have a more formal meet up this time with more space).
After a long Hiatus a big con like this still remains the best way to kick everything off again, bring out what cast is available, and maybe show the first episode again. Though I’d totally love bloopers and deleted scene Season 6 too.
This is also a chance for the press to get content and updated interviews. Though I know we had a few set visits so they do have a hoard of info they are just sitting on.
I know if they are there the chances of getting the full cast back are slim.
After Wondercon as as the current TV Seasons start to wind down we’ll start to get teases and a full trailer.... Wondercon or no I think we can expect a nice big Season 7 trailer like we had for Season 6 that had bits from the ENTIRE season....ohhh that was the good stuff I can’t WAIT to dig into it.
A few weeks out will begin the time honored tradition of fandom melting down as we wait for the cast pics and promo pics/press releases for other episodes.
I’m also okay with AOS being left alone, Marvel has never really taken a ton of note or promoted them so I don’t see that changing now that its the end. The Fanbase has proven time and time and time again that we will follow wherever they go and are pretty good at keeping tabs on them on our own.
