Milky Way Fandom, unrequited Luna/Sol
(what do mean this fandom died)
Luna knows from the beginning she is nothing. Well no, that isn't fair -- she is as much as Io, or Europa, or Ganymede; she is a moon, and they have their place in the universe. Compared to the planets to which they belong, however, they are nothing but spinning hunks of rock. And compared to that grand mistress to whom all belong, the blazing inferno that is their sun, they aren't even that.
Luna can only blame Earth for her foolishness -- she is his moon, his only moon, and he has shaped her in oh so many ways. He is a dreamer, and he made her into one too.
Earth believes Sol should love her, and Luna cannot comprehend why. Why should Sol even notice her? And yet, Earth never shuts up; he tells stories of marriages and tragic love affairs, he believes them with all his heart, and Luna starts to too. She looks toward that beeming light and tricks herself into thinking her glow is somehow equal. That it's not just a reflection.
Luna spins around Earth and gets closer to Sol and further away. Luna doesn't revolve around her, therefore, can't she be Sol's equal? Sol is polite, but nothing more, and Luna craves to reach out and touch her. To push into Sol and feel her form quake and tremble, to be covered and caressed and coated by that dazzling light, to feel the elements of the universe be given birth too.
Yet, she sees Mercury always-burning always-freezing, oh so small and oh so close. She knows it's for the best she stays where she is. She would never survive anything else.
(She does not manage to trick herself into thinking it would be worth it.)
So she spins. She spins around Earth oh so fast, until she's dizzy, and he beams up at her like she is his mother. He beams toward Sol she is his father. Luna feeds herself on Earth's stories, where she is a goddess, a lover, a woman -- anything other than a rock.
Sol is heat and light, energy and creation, she will be the death of them all one day and she is the life of them now.
Mercury: I love being near the Sun!! Sure she's really hot but I don't care... She's the closest I've ever had to a mother. She always reads me to sleep, will attempt to cook for me, care for me when Im sick. I know the others can't get near her because of her heat but I love her a lot.
Alright, here is my headcanons and two-cents a bit with all of Solar System stuff. These below are just my opinions, and a few of them change a bit depending what I feel like. Whelp, I fell into a new fandom...but hey, I don't mind. And this one is really quite interesting really. It gives me more thought about our Solar System and to find out more about it. And that is always great, to research and find out new things.
To start off, some of the personality and looks of the planets are based a bit in Greek/Roman mythology, from where the names of the planets came from. Not all of their personality is the same, but there are in some places.
Pairing-wise, that won't really come into play right now. Just descriptions.
Sun- The Sun is really an entity that the planets usually don't converse with. Since being so hot, they usually don't get near. But then again, they really have never truly met with the Sun. So, they don't know if he/she would be like in the first place. The planets think Mercury maybe has seen the Sun, but the planet doesn't exactly say whether he knows or not.
Moons- First off, I believe that they are more like 'children' of the planets. As such, the home planet cares alot about their moons and often takes care of them most of the time. The moons often respect the home planet, look up to them, and do love them like a child would a parent. Now some may be a bit 'teenager'-like, but that doesn't mean that they don't care about them.
Mercury- He is the second shortest of all the planets and a bit of the funny one. He likes to joke around and just really talk and hang out with the other Inners, though even they get a bit annoyed with him. He acts like a bit of a hyperactive teen, though really kind-of doesn't mean to. It is just kind-of his nature, and for the fact that he hides the small fact that he is a bit lonely. The other Inners (Mars, Earth, and Venus) usually talk with themselves, leaving him out. So, he tries to get them to talk and usually fails. There is a secret that goes around that he has talked with Sun, but he says he hasn't. Secretly, he has, though not much. Sun is probably the only one that listens to him more than the others, but can't talk for long. Mercury treasures those moments, before going back to just being the small, fast planet.
Height is about 5'2, Hair color is a a dull-gold, Eye color is a dull silver, and skin color is a bronze. He is lanky, though has a bit of a pudge of a belly. His hair is short and a bit spiky.
Venus- She is the 'mature' sister like planet out of them all, but she can act immature at times as well. She is also the more elegant and classy of the planets. She is the same height as Earth, thus proclaiming them 'Twin Sisters'. She can be a bit of a nosy busy-body, especially when it comes to people's problems -mostly romantic ones-. She often tries to get Earth too look prettier, often hangs out and messes a bit with Mars -who is a bit like a distant brother-, and has slight envy/wariness of the Outer planets. Venus can be easy to get along with, but mess with her or piss her off, and she can be quite a bitch. She can also be very protective of the Inners when threatened.
Height is about 5'7, Hair color is light white and orange mixing together, Eye color is a pale white/yellow, and skin color is a soft white. Her body is a healthy thin in waist and filled nicely. Her hair is long and often wispy, looks almost moving in the wind.
Earth- Probably the more level-headed out of all the planets, next to Saturn and the Outer Twins (Neptune and Uranus). She is usually really responsible and rational, though can have her moments of acting very child-like. She cares for all of the other planets, though the Outers are a bit...distant from her. Her and Venus are 'twins', though Earth doesn't exactly enjoy being dragged into what the other wants to do. She is a bit of the tomboy, doesn't mind getting muddy and actually enjoys it. But she also can be feminine and look very nice -though usually by the 'help' of Venus-. Her personality is usually calm and caring, though she can be as violent as a storm and as explosive as a volcano. Very protective of her moon and the planets, but more 'motherly' to her Moon and the life on her planet, who are like children to her. Her and Mars often get into verbal teasing, since they -usually he- wants to annoy each other.
Height is about 5'7, Hair color is brown, Eye color is a mixure of blue and green, and skin color is a light tan. Her body is about average, though slightly bigger with what is a bit of muscle. Her hair is often unruly -till Venus gets a hold of it- and often brush every once in a while. There are a few 'dirt smudges' on her face, though they are marks if landforms.
Mars- He is an 'older' brother type, but not really in the sense of being a protector. More like that he is the older brother, so you just should leave him alone really. With the other Inners, he is more brotherly towards Venus and Earth, though he does tease and messes with Earth quite a bit. Towards Venus, however, he can get along more. Doesn't really care much for the other planets -besides his siblings of Earth and Venus-. Doesn't trust the Outers really.
Height is 5'6 1/2, Hair color is a red-orange, Eye color is pale orange, and skin color is tanned. His body, though being just a half inch shorter than Venus and Earth, he is more muscular than them. His hair is short and often un-kept.
Jupiter- Even with the stature of his planet and size, Jupiter never tries to look big and mighty. Really, he is more calm and easy to get along. He is very caring, but also a bit reclusive on that. Tends to be a person who watches a crowd when he wants to, but can still mingle if choosing otherwise. He can be quite protective and can get violent if provoke -by way of if you harm the person he is protective of or by other means-. He shares a close 'sibling' bong with Saturn, though mostly they aren't really that close. Neptune and him can talk a bit like brothers, though it can be a bit strained at times with differing opinions. While Earth could be the more 'motherly' type, Jupiter is the more 'fatherly' out of the planets, loving all his moons and getting along with most of them.
Height is 6'3, Hair color is a mix of red-orange, pale orange and creamy white, Eye color is reddish gold, and skin color is bronzing/red skin. His body is tall and well-built. His hair a bit long and rather un-kept and messy.
Saturn- Since being an Outer planet, Saturn -along with the others excluding Jupiter- can be quite distant in attitude and personality. It is just who they are, since they really don't talk too many -including amongst themselves-. Even if they may act a bit distant, that doesn't mean he doesn't have anyone to talk to. Saturn mostly gets along with Jupiter, but sometimes he isn't too fond of what the gas giant does -e.x.: taking hits of asteroids-. Uranus is another he could 'get along with', though they really mainly just talk. Other than that, it is distant relationship. He is a bit stuck-up in the sense that he believes he is right and a bit superior to others, but doesn't get into people's face about it. More like a silent ruler. But that doesn't mean he won't snap at you if you are disrespectful to him.
Height is 6'2 1/2, Hair color is a slicked back blonde that falls to his shoulders, Eye color is a more piercing gold, and skin color is a caramel golden hue. His body is tall and lean, though with board shoulders. His hair is to his shoulders, straight, and his bangs are slicked back.
Uranus(Ouranos)- Since being the actual twin of Neptune, both him and Uranus often are seen either together, talking together, and so on. They mainly stick together, not really venturing to talk to others, though they make a few exceptions with the other Outer planets at times. Uranus is the more colder of him and Neptune, often not even talking much with his brother. He usually doesn't say much, tending to be more silent with everyone. He is a bit of mystery like that. Saturn is usually the one to ever -besides Neptune- to get a few words out of him at one time.
Height is 6'0 1/2, Hair color is white-blue, Eye color is light sky blue, and skin color is very pale. His body is thin and tall, though having a little of muscle definition. His hair is long and wispy, like it has been through a wind storm.
Neptune- As said with Uranus, Neptune often keeps with his twin, but that doesn't mean he doesn't branch off at times. Mainly, he can be seen sometimes talking with either Jupiter or even Pluto at rare times. The former isn't one he has talked with much, but the latter...that is a bit more low-key. They keep it that way. Neptune is a bit...moody, compared to the others. He can be one to easily get along with, but sometimes he can be quite cold or stormy. Try not to anger him, or you won't end up in a good position.
Height is 6'1, Hair color is blue with streaks and tips of white, Eye color is a dark blue, and skin color is is a slightly pale, though not as bad as Uranus or Pluto. His body tall and lean like his brother, as well as slightly muscular. His hair is long and flowing, like water.
Pluto- The youngest and the most isolate out of all the planets. He is one who really doesn't interact with the other planets, partly because he is so far away and partly because he really doesn't want to. He likes to be alone, for the most part. He has been alone for a long time, so continuing on being alone isn't something that really is a bother for him. Though Neptune tries to talk with him, he really doesn't talk much. He is a very sullen person, often just really is a bit of a downer. He has his moments of not being, but those are really rare.
Height is 5'0, Hair color is dark grey hair, Eye color is greyish-yellow, and skin color is a bit pale. His body is skinny for his height, not much muscle or even fat. His hair is shaggy and often covers his eyes.
