Hey! I've got a question that maybe y'all can answer. Have you ever known anyone who went into top surgery never having seen the surgeons results? That's what I'm being faced with under my current insurance and it is entirely worrisome for me.
I am. My surgeon isn’t allowed to show me pictures. I don’t know why, but if I ever get the chance I’ll definitely ask him. Anyhow, I’m going into surgery only having seen a few results online from the same surgeon, all of them peri, while I’m getting DI. It’s definitely a source of worry but I’m not very stressed, and this is what helps me when I start to worry too much: I think about what I want most, and for me that is a flat chest, so if something is uneven or something like that, I can live with it. And I think about what it will feel like to have a flat chest, and that thought alone makes me happy. I also think about how the surgeon seemed when I met him - to me he seemed nice, professional, kind and confident in a relaxed sort of way, and that comforts me, that I feel safe with him as a person and am able to trust him.
I hope you can find comfort in something as well, going into surgery. I wish you all the best!! <3
