             Zelda enjoyed being back in the halls of the Academy. It gave her a surge of energy, and this new job bequeathed her with a new sense of purpose. Of course it was merely temporary and it wasn’t an actual class, simply the choir... but it was a change from delivering witches and burying mortals. Being around all of the raw magical potential of the pupils was invigorating.

             She gave a smile to the young man standing beside the High Priest’s office door.

             “Father Blackwood is out for the first half of the day. Is there something I can assist you with?” Now why couldn’t her niece become smitten with a boy like this, she mused. He was every bit as handsome as the Kinkle boy.

Was there no pleasing anybody in this world? Everything she said or did was either wrong or not good enough. She was sure it was probably due to her mortal side, but Sabrina was tired of asking questions and getting blank or mediocre responses. Sabrina  was more of a take action type of person. If anything. Though she knew her downfall would be her constant need to appease people. “Is that not why we have our powers? So that we can feel powerful. Because with power we do not fear? How is that so bad?”

“Well, well, Mr. Graves, you continue to impress me. Not an easy feat, I assure you, but rarely have I seen such potential in a warlock of your age. Your abilities notably outshine those of your classmates, particularly when it comes to Invocation and Necromancy.” Blackwood was seated across from Niklaus, after calling him into his office for a private meeting, “Have you considered vying for the title of Top Boy this year? The Academy could use someone with your level of focus and...”, the older man paused, the corner of his lips twitching in a smirk, “...ruthless determination. And, of course, I would gladly use my position of authority to tip the odds in your favor...”, he leaned forward, clawed fingers steepled beneath his chin, “Just something to consider.”

Alice stood in the kitchen holding the stupid piece of plastic that told her she was pregnant. She couldn’t for the life of her figure out who was the father. “Nathaniel..Niklaus I need you” she called out setting the test on the dining table so they could see it.

“I couldn’t sleep..when I was little my mum used to make me tea but the only thing I have here is hot pockets so” Alice said shrugging, wishing she hadn’t mentioned her mother. “Better question is why are you here sneaking around in the dark? That’s something Nik would do”
