1: Why did you name your blog that?
asumas-gaiden; well, gaiden means tale or side story, so i thought it was fitting at the time— it just made sense. when i first joined this fandoms rping community i was the first asuma —- there were no other asumas so i thought, shit, i’ll by my hero aka asuma and what bettter title for my url than asumas-gaiden?? honestly i think i got pretty lucky with it being available.
4: With which three words would you describe your writing?
• introspective. • emotive • fluid?
7: With which three words would you like others to describe your character?
• blunt • soothing~ • idealistic
8: Name something or someone who influences your writing, art or characterization.
M U S I C 10000%.
9: What’ll make you unfollow a blog?
Bigotry, clogging up my dash to the point that i see nothing but ooc posts from that person, if their portrayal doesn’t bode well on me mostly.
11: What do you think are essential questions to ask yourself during character development?
Aside from obvious things like— who are they, how do they feel about this or that, what is their direct environment and how does/should it affect them, I do like to go very internal. I do a surprisingly large amount of research and always consider and consult psychology and reality. They are characters but they are people. It’s important for me to put myself in their shoes, to think of their ideals, their emotions and mentality, how they physically feel from day to day and how that affects them, and lastly what ties they have and how those relationships affect them.
16: What kinds of threads do you like the best?
Anything with an interesting, deep, sad or emotional driven plot. Something that feels organic and character driven rather than heavily plotted or strict. Fluffy and romance and crack is okay, but really deep or emotive threads are my favorite.
17: What kind of relationships would you like your character to have more of?
As far as my roleplaying goes, personally i want more friendship and platonic relationships. I think he has always had lots of romantic approaches, but i think it’d be nice to see Asuma put into more situations where he has to interact directly against people getting into his comfort zone and shaking him up a little without it having to be romantic or cutsie ya know? The kind of friendship that pushes you and inspires you where you feel as though you could trust them with anything—- i’d always like to see more of that.

— While Magoichi’s parents were fiercely devoted Jōdo Shinshū, he himself is not. Magoichi is thankful to the bodhisattva for all they’ve done with the world, but he doesn’t really keep in-tuned with the whole religion-thing, its far too much work for him.

— Of all possible fruits, Magoichi enjoys apricot the best. Fruit in general isn’t a major part of his diet, but if he’s given a choice, Magoichi goes for the apricot.
