Favorite Elriel moment?

Ahhh this is such a hard question 😭

I adore every single one of their interactions so I’m going to give my top 3 to make it easier!

1. The Truthteller scene. This moment is just so monumental for Elriel. Elain was hesitant to accept a weapon, but Azriel reassured her so gently and helped her feel comfortable enough to accept it. Elain being the only person Az has ever given TT to is HUGE and I love how other characters react to this

And of course we have Feyre’s gorgeous mental painting of Elain and Az as she watches them. It’s just such a special moment and leads to Elain killing the big bad of the book so 10/10.

2. The Hybern Rescue. This sequence is basically a class in how to write a romantic rescue 101. Azriel being the first person to realize Elain is missing. Insisting that he will get her back, not caring if it means he could die. Being full of rage at her being taken. Elain devouring the sight of him when he finds her. “You came for me.” The way Elain and Az worked together as a team to get out of the camp. Elain defending Azriel by kicking the hounds off of his wings. Azriel cradling Elain to his chest even though he was gravely injured and Elain was capable of walking. Az only being worried about Elain’s chain being removed when they reach the others. Elain kissing Az on the cheek to show her appreciation. Perfection.

3. The iconic potato scene 👑 This moment made me extremely giddy the first time I read it (and every time after). It’s a moment that made it very clear these two characters have romantic feelings for each other. Elain stilling the moment she sees Azriel and her throat bobbing (the tension between them is so thick 😩). Azriel moving towards Elain right away and so smoothly telling her he will finish setting the table. The way Elain got flustered and had to run to the bathroom to collect herself. Azriel making sure no one eats until Elain is seated. My babies have such a fat crush on each other and it’s beautiful.

Bonus mention because I can’t help myself: Solstice night in ACOSF. I love how this night showcases the angst and obstacles standing between Elain and Azriel. They clearly want each other, but aren’t fully going for it because of their current circumstances. Az following the sound of Elain’s laughter. The charged glance. The way Az had to stand by the doorway and Nesta noticing his pain. “His secret to tell, never hers.” Finding each other in the middle of the night to exchange gifts. Showcasing the way they can read each other without words or shadows. “Put it on me?” The slow way they gravitated into almost kissing before they were interrupted. “Offer and permission.” The angst that followed when Az forced himself to call their moment a mistake. “What if the Cauldron was wrong?” It’s all so painfully good and Sarah was so successful in making me need more 🥲

Anyways that’s enough rambling from me, but thank you so much for the ask 💙🩷 Writing this out has made me even more excited for what’s to come!

To me, my anons are like cats or pets in general in my kitchen.

I'm here, usually drinking something or cooking something for you all, and then at some point one of them barges in, goes MEOW MEOWMEOW, I feed them something and they leave. Most of them are my cats, domesticated and collared, with little tags that let me know they're regulars in my kitchen.

Then I name them something stupid of course because I love them. 🙂‍↕️

Some are strays that jump through my window and demand food after trying to knock my shit off the windowsill. Some are just hungry strays that get some lil tuna too. But most are my beloved gremlins who are playing fucking parkour at 3am and sometimes bringing me dead shit as a way to show appreciation. And I feel appreciated.

I hope they also feel appreciated because I love my fucking insane cats.

Some of them kinda vanish sometimes too, and I think about them often and hope they find their way back home.

The audacity of @bucketforme to claim that Jensen is an irrelevant actor. I'm sorry, but he's the most relevant person there is to speak about Dean and the character's existence! Jensen's the only one who's spent more time with Dean than any other person. SPN had so much turnover with writers and showrunners to the point where writer's talked about only being required to watch a couple of episodes before they got to write one themselves.

That's not to mention how many fans think they know better than the character. I've mentioned this before, but let's look at numbers! Jensen and Jared worked on 327 episodes of SPN. Each episode takes about 8 days to film, typically working an average of 14 hour days. I'll be generous and say that J2 spent 6 of those 8 actually filming. In addition, they would have spent non-filming time studying the scripts, not just the words, but the actions and motivations of their characters. I'll give that three hours in a day (they have to sleep sometime!) So, that's 17 hours, 6 days a week for 327 episodes. That comes out to 33,354 hours of work put into creating SPN and living as Sam and Dean.

The total runtime of SPN is about 240 hours. Even if a superfan watched the entire show 10 times over (and again, that's being generous), that's only 2,400 hours, or only 7% of the total time Jared and Jensen spent with Sam and Dean.

To say that Jensen's words about Dean's thoughts and motivations are irrelevant as an actor is ridiculous and frankly, insulting. He's the only one who knows the character best and can speak on him, so when he says Destiel is not valid and that Dean only cared about Cass as a brother, then that's Dean's truth and no amount of explaining/hand-wringing/manifesting/harassing that hellers do is going to change that.

You’re absolutely right anon, Jensen is THE relevant person there is to speak about Dean, because he is THE expert on Dean. Between the sheer amount of time Jensen has spent molding and living Dean and the amount of writer turnover as you said. Like, especially when you look at the actual numbers, it’s not even close, even when we shave off some hours for the reduced work time and days for when J2 both scaled back their workload in later seasons somewhat, that would still come out to over 20,000 hours at least. So at a bare minimum Jensen spent 10x as many hours with Dean as a fan who watched the entire series 10 times over.

This isn’t news of course to any of us with an ounce of respect for Jensen, an ounce of common sense, and a lack of agenda, but the hellers’ strong suit has always been belligerence, entitlement, and everything that comes with it, including clinging to their shared delusion.
