I have another funny story about my engineering class, the same one where that guy knew what ao3 was.
So, we’ve been working on this electrical powered go-kart for about 2 months? Maybe a bit longer? But lately we’ve been sitting ducks for the past few weeks because ALL OF THE APPROVED VENDORS REFUSED TO CONTACT US BACK WITH QOUTES. Which means we haven’t been able to get replacements for our wiring, connectors, or controllers until VERY RECENTLY!!
Anywho, yesterday, our teacher comes in the lab excitedly and says, “Guess what came in guys?”
My poor, poor team says, “The controller? 🥹”
“No, our Disney tickets!”
Which prompted some unamused murmurs.
Now, I was sort of preoccupied trying to attach this piece of loose chain back onto this sprocket on the motor… but the words “Disney Ticket,” scared me because I had NO RECOLLECTION OF EVER HEARING ABOUT THIS???
So after I wash my hands (which were covered in grease) I ask, “Hey uh did we ever sign anything for Disney?”
And for SOME. ODD. REASON.
EVERYBODY IN MY TEAM SAID YES WE DID???
Like now I’m panicking because does that mean I don’t have a ticket? 🥹 Am I going to be some loser sitting in an empty classroom while everyone is at Disney???
After about 10 minutes of straight fear-mongering from my team, I decide to ask our teacher when the field trip is + if I’m included.
Her response was: “Oh yeah of course you’re included! You guys didn’t have to sign anything we just talked about it during class.”
So basically everybody in my team straight up LIED to me 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
The worst part is they all genuinely thought they signed and turned in a slip for Disney.
My teacher then said, “Hey be nice to [Cupid] she’s your guys’ driver, without her you guys can’t enter the competition.”
Anyways uhhh yeah 😼 that’s all I have to say
