Day 12, Jan 12th – Weekly report time! Weekly reports are a critical part of my success so far. They are a form of public accountability and can help you make adjustments as you go.
You can make these as simple or as complex as you would like. A Basic sample report is below. A complex sample report can be found here.
Basic Weekly: (It might have been more than a week since I reported, but whatever)
Gain / loss from last week report: 3.2lbs
Gain / loss from baseline: 7lbs
What went well during last week that I should continue?:
What did not go well that I want to change?:
How are you doing on your healthy habits?: I haven't been good at actually recording them, but I've been mentally checking on them.
I haven't been flossing as much as I need to but I did a couple days this week.I exercised most days. Not everyday. But most. I think 4 or 5 out of 7. I ate well about half of the time. During the school week, I ate pretty well. One day I had a pretty big burrito. And then I went to a BBQ another day. But I ate light before I went and I tried not to over eat too much. I've been keeping on track with studying daily. I think I only missed one day (the day of the BBQ).
My sleep has been less than great this past week. I've been averaging 4 or 5 hours which is less than I'd like. I keep getting woken up so I'm not sure what to do about that. My mental health has varied day to day. It was pretty decent most days, but there were a couple of days where I felt shitty. I've noticed I tend to feel good in the morning and bad at night.
I haven't cleaned a lot this past week. I did the dishes and swept and did my laundry and cleaned out the cat liter box, but I did not do as much as I should have. My sister was good about cleaning this week though.
This is not directly a healthy habit but I've been working hard to find a good balance. I want to be able to sustain whatever healthy eating and exercise habits I develop. I don't want to cut out doing all things with my friends, but I need to be healthy when I do. I think I did better this week because when I went out, I tried to keep an eye on what I was eating. When I had mexican food, I just had the burrito and water, no chips or salsa. When I went to the bbq, I didn't get totally drunk and just eat whatever. I had a couple beers and a shot of whiskey (<3) and then I tried to fill up on veggies before having meat. I had a burger and a 1/4 of a sausage. Enough to try it without having a whole one.
One goal I did a really bad of keeping on track with this week was drinking water though. I think I only drank about half of what I aimed to most days this week. I'll try to do better this week!
I think where I've failed before is getting so caught up on eating healthy and losing weight that I become miserable and stop having a good time. I'll never succeed if I do that. It's really important to me to find a balance this time so I can stick to my goals.
