A pior parte da compulsão não é comer. É perceber que estou vivendo a mesma história pela centésima vez.

Considering the current kpop climate where idols are worryingly skinny and showing off how little they weigh and I regularly wonder how on earth they're still standing, let alone dancing for hours a day and doing all those schedules, I can't express in words how much I appreciate seonghwa saying he's happy he gained some weight and that he thinks he looks better with a rounder face, and that he didn't look as good when he was really skinny
it fucking rules that I can enter the new year with 0 thoughts about my body and weight and no guilt over all the delicious things I treated myself to over Christmas and this morning, even.
Just learned that the tiktok youth are using "Aphrodite Body" as an insult. Going to start ripping throats out with my teeth and goreing people with my horns. Rip up diet culture by its roots and salt the earth where this behavior grows.
Can you pls explain what mean about michkov?
Hello, yes! I will preface this with a little warning that I will be talking about fat-shaming and diets and disordered eating, so if that's gonna make you feel bad, you can skip it. Also, I think fat is a neutral descriptor like short or tall. I'm using it to describe Michkov bc that is how he has been talked about by the media, but I don't really consider any NHL players to be actually fat. (There there is an argument to be made that if someone gets treated like they're fat (publicly mocked, denied opportunities, blamed for their own injuries, forced to lose weight to receive ice time) then maybe it is an appropriate descriptor in the sense of it being a social categorization. But that's for another post!)
My main point here is: Michkov is not actually fat, but I'll describe him as such because that's part of the situation I'm describing, and also I don't think it's a bad thing to be fat.
Also, I included some links so you can see what's been said, but a lot of this is just my opinion reading between the lines. And of course it's based on my opinions on Michkov, on the Flyers, on Tocchet's coaching style, on fatness and antifatness, on diets... this is all a very personal interpretation of what's been going on, but you can read the articles and watch the videos and decide what you think!
First week of weight loss down!
I made myself a diet diary to keep track of what I eat and how many steps I take in a day! I’ve got a daily limit of about 1600 calories which is honestly not that hard to stay within, averaging around 1200 a day. My high score for steps is ~19k in one day!
Started the week at 201lbs and now I’m around 194lbs. That’s mostly water weight but I’m still proud of myself and honestly I’m having fun! Cooking is my hobby and it’s been a fun challenge finding ways to make my favorite meals lower calorie. I’ve gotten into baking my own bread and it turned out delicious! I’m gonna try making wheat bread tomorrow! I have no interest in doing any of those no carb/low carb diets for spiritual reasons. My 1 protein, 1 veggie, 1 carb routine hasn’t led me astray yet. I replaced junk food with either air popped popcorn, seasoned cucumber, or bananas.
I think the second week I’m gonna try my hand at meal prep since I have Monday off work. The only thing I consistently measured was my sugar and oat milk, everything else was ballpark ranges. Sunday was my “cheat day”. I don’t consider it cheating since this is more of a lifestyle change than a one time diet, but I didn’t keep track of my calorie intake on Sunday unlike other days. I still ended up eating less than I used to. Didn’t gorge myself or anything.
Physically I feel great! I’m not sure if it’s just placebo, but I feel more limber. Less bloated and my joints hurt a lot less but I’ll chalk that up to the extra walking I’ve been doing.
I don’t expect to lose as much weight next week, I only aim for 1-2lbs weekly but we’ll see.
